I think the problem is coming from the terms american, white and european. Black people are described as african american on most sites so it gets a double hit when you search for american inventors and pulls up their sites first.

White isnt referenced in a picture of white people unless there is a non white person there as well. If you try searching countries or states you pull up what you would expect. For example try 'Ohio children' or 'French children'

Same thing with European. If you search country, art period or just art you get what you would expect. But I think European art is only referenced on sites which describe art from other continents (africa) and compare it to european art.
