There are less than 40k troops in South Korea, they'd need to move 100s of thousands of troops into theater, which would mean deploying troops from the USA, and we'd know well in advance of that.

THe invasion of iraq wasn't a 'shock', they spent MONTHS moving the forces necessary into position beforehand
