Historically, you get violence, riots, revolution when the nation's economy tanks. Not "some people are underemployed" but "nearly everyone is underemployed."

Comfy people don't riot. Comfy people aren't ready to shoot their neighbors over opinions. Look at places like Venezuela, people took to the streets when the stores emptied out. When you can't buy toilet paper for weeks, that's when you grab a molotov.

Is it possible for people living in relative comfort to go to war? Of course. But I'm not seeing any sign of widespread precursors for violence. When I ate lunch yesterday, I didn't see a restaurant full of people ready to fight to the death over philosophic differences in governance or questions of entho-nationalism. I saw a bunch of chubby wage slaves happy to keep their hamster wheels spinning.

And if it's not war/violence/riots, then we're talking economic collapse. And since every economic indicator (stocks, employment, wages) are ticking upward, it's very, very counter-intuitive to suggest "collapse" without identifying some hidden cause.
