God created the universe. but what would be the point of creating something then perpetually micromanaging it? there wouldnt be any point, might as well not create it to begin with.

so he created it, but in order to ensure the concept of free will could still exist, he created angels too. certain rules limit what the angels can and cannot do, but for the most part they too have free will (hence fallen angels)

life is just a test to determine who gets to become an angel.

realize I worded that terrible, but basically angels are the existential equivalent of a policeman. tasked with overseeing it all. they are supposed to be beacons of goodness, and most are. but ultimately they can still do whatever they want, whenever they want.
