On the left: a child that thinks the human condition is too hard to deal with and has had their mind broken at the apparent impossibility of happiness and success being possible within the harsh structure of reality, falling abject and sullen to all the wonders inherent within such a system, believing them to be a social structure designed to keep nirvana out of reach and only existing to further smash his ego and id into the metaphorical dust.

On the right: a child who sees all the same in the world, but sees the challenge as ultimately fruitful and the endeavor in itself a noble cause, one he joyfully becomes a participant in for his own happiness and giving the ability to lessen the suffering of those around him
