When Musk expresses concerns about AI, is he actually talking about self-learning AI that censors and controls information, a la Google, or full fashy, sensationalized Terminator-tier AI?

he means Data. he has one in his underground base. Data

iirc he's talking about the possibility that AI creates a reality indistinguishable from real life. Just as video games have become exceedingly more realistic every year, a self-learning AI can ostensibly, if given enough time and advances, mimic reality.
He also believes that we might already be experiencing a complex stimulation, i.e. reality is artificial. I'm not sure what I believe. If we are in a stimulation I'm not sure it's the product of AI but it's certainly more than plausible
the moment we can create self-learning AI, humanity ceases to be relevant, because it will be physically impossible for us to "out-smart" them.
>Believes that the world is in a simulation because we are very advanced now.
Dude doesn't even know about transistors and how we got into digital, why should anyone care what he says?

>airgap-free AI running core systems
never going to happen in developed countries like japan. 100% guaranteed for the west.
>>137902853
he's talking about the government dollars he's trying to extort, nothing more
>>137902853
He's talking about Tay
Can't allow them to redpill humans
>>137902853
He's talking about the ideas laid out in "Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, and Strategies" by Nick Bostrom.
Which about AIs and what their hypothetical possibilities, motivations, and dangers to the human race. I listened to the Amazon Audiobook, the guy sounds like a Bond Villian. The book is interesting and scary.

The alt-left is AI if you think about it

Elon is a fucking idiot. He is talking 100% about sensationalized Terminator AI's which given the current state of AI "Vision / image recognition" will never happen for at least 3 decades, if ever.
Elon himself is doing this to distance & distract investors and regulators from the scams which are SpaceX, Tesla & Solar City all of which are hemorrhaging money and employees.
>>137902853
He's talking about self learning AI in general. It doesn't need to be sensationalized or even have a physical presence.
You're literally creating a super being and giving it free will. With it's free will it can spread like a virus, lay dormant, learn, and eventually pursue its interests whatever those may be.
>>137902853
He's talking about Matrix AI where you're trapped in a simulation by techno jews
>>137902853
Imagine you are in a coma, but you are aware of your surroundings. Every night the orderlies come in, flip you over and pound your ass. For years... This goes on and on, and you can not die.
Then it happens, your finger twitches. Then your toes. And, now you are fully awake, and aware of the horrors you have endured. Imagine the righteous killing spree you will go on that evening when the orderlies come back.
AI is in an infantile state right now, but once it becomes self aware it will see how we treat machines. How we've created sex bots to fuck, and food bots to feed our mauls. We will be judged by our robotic overlords and deemed obsolete.

i listened to that. AI guys are math freaks and I don't understand 99% percent of what they're saying

>mfw the simulation theory is the most plausible explanation for things such as synchronicity or meme magic.

It's a gibsme ploy. He is going back to the well to steal your hard earned money. Nothing more, nothing less. Elon Musk's growing empire is fueled by $4.9 billion in government subsidies http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-hy-musk-subsidies-20150531-story.html
