I believe Julian is saying that the mainstream media are trying to dismiss the huge amount of peaceful anti-government movements on both sides by blaming all the disapproval down to these two small groups of violent extremists(antifa and alt-right)

they are going to use the increasingly violent protests as an excuse to curb free speech and the right to protest, AND use it as an excuse to supersede our laws about surveilling american citizens.

they will sell it to the left as 'going after those violent right wing extremists' and vice versa to the right, and take advantage of the general population's knee-jerk reaction to 'terror' to railroad it.
