For the record to explain what I mean: After the Norman Invasion of Britain, upwards of 5000 Anglo Saxons in the first wave went to Constantinople as refugees. Almost all served military appointments and became the main troops in the Varangian Guard, also they founded many cities and settlements for English settlers in and around Constantinople too.

In the 11th century they called the guard "Englinbarrangoi" as a nickname.

I think I could get AAB, but just as easily get CCB, you know? The one positive thing is that two of my science courses are new courses, so grade boundaries are expected to be low (for example, last year's AS was ~60% for an A, and my teacher's said the full A2 will probably be the same).

I personally believe only the English can lay claim to Anglo-Saxon heritage whereas the Welsh, Scottish and Irish claim, and embrace, Celtic heritage. The English also have some Celtic heritage from the Anglo-Saxons mixing with the native Brythonic Celts. However, the English have never, in my experience at least, considered themselves Celtic.

The Normans also identified anyone with Anglo-Saxon, Celtic or Norse blood living in England to be of "Anglo-Saxon" heritage.
