sur[rised no one has mentioned the good old 7.62X39mm. run an sks or akm with it and plenty of mgs and ammo which is twice as cheap as the 5.56X45mm so you can purchase twice the ammount for the same price. since we are dealing with niggers and their liberal friends they will be shittily equipped but they will have large numbers so youll need plenty or ammo thats good on REKING soft tissue so i suggest hollow point or soft point ammo for your nigger killing kit.

You want a decent handgun?
Glock, M&P, Hk USP/P30/VP9, police trade in SIG P226.
You can find all of these pretty cheap if used.

You want a decent rifle?
NPAP/OPAP or WASR 10/63 for AKs. If you want a cheap AR S&W has some cheap ones that are pretty decent all around. There are more AR manufacturers on the market than I can mention now though. Tons of them. Its worth popping on over to /k/ and getting one of those autists to do the legwork for you if you want to find the absolute cheapest deal on the web. Pic related can be had around $600, sometimes cheaper.

For home defense a long gun is best, simply because rifles and shotguns damage an incredible amount of tissue compared to handguns. The potential for incapacitation is in an entirely different league.

That is why there is a lot of movement back to 7.62x39 (GIGN) or 7.62x51.

WW2 study found most combat takes place under 300 yards.

Battlefields of today and tomorrow will be increasingly urban.

5.56 is low recoil and performs admirably in close quarters and shorter ranges. You can carry a shit ton of ammo and most can shoot low recoiling rifles much more effectively, especially while under combat stress.

5.56 is an obvious choice, 7.62x39 is great in these conditions as well, superior in penetrating structures and obstacles but the ammo and weapons are heavier. ARs are much more modular than ak47s as well.

308 is great if you live in the country and actually have lines of sight that extend far enough to utilize the longer effective range. Otherwise the rifle is heavier, the ammo is heavier, the recoil is more abusive and hampers inexperienced shooters accuracy in combat conditions.

Go with 5.56 or 7.62x39, it's what you'd use for 95 percent of scenarios anyway and have something on hand for the 5 percent where you need the longer range.

If you're happening worried, which don't worry it will never happen, get an AK. My favorite AK was like 700 bucks or something, I forget, a Yugo O-PAP. Really well made machine and never jammed or anything even after a few thousand rounds. Ammo is real cheap and if you're happening worried, an AK is probably better than an AR because 7.62x39 can easily kill someone behind a cinderblock or something.

AK is okay, but statistics say it is inferior for the application most people need it for. It's heavier meaning you carry less ammo, and most infantry men can't hit the broad side of a barn in combat so you want them putting as much lead down range as possible and out of box AKs are less accurate (even if only marginally these days.)

Yeah, but only marginally so. It has quite a bit lower muzzle velocity. Frankly it's just not worth the tradeoffs. Especially with the lower out of box accuracy. The .308 offers more of the same benefits and none of the negatives, as well as actually being effective and penetrating barriers. But if you're in love with the AK (and I understand, it is a beautiful weapon) it's certainly not a bad choice, just not the optimal one.

I agree it's much heavier. I have an AK and a SCAR17. Figure I'll hand off the AK to a friend if I need to. SCAR with 308 is my baby. Ex military fag here and I decided against the 556 after using it for so many years. 308 is a marksman round in a pinch.

The biggest advantage of the AK though is frankly it's ridiculous ability to keep working. My AK is my throw away gun, panic bought it during Sandy Hook shit (yeah I overpaid a little) but I gained a lot of respect for it when I went a few months shooting it weekly at the range and never cleaned it, thing still fired without issue. The ammo is cheap and the rifle is a reliable bitch.

Like I said, out of box accuracy has improved over the years but the AK, due to its design, will not be as accurate as an out of box AR. AK has much looser tolerances, it shoots far more inconsistent groups. You're right about body armor, though in a shtf no law scenario you could modify any bullets to defeat body armor (not sure about rifle plates though.)

Oh for sure, it was designed with loser tolerances in mind which allow it to keep working in inclimate conditions but a properly maintained AR is going to be nearly as reliable. An out of box AK will shoot a 12" group at 300m, don't get me wrong, you may hit a headshot (the human head is approx 2") at that range but you can do the math, it's a 1 in 6 chance at that range on a stationary target from a rest. But as I said, this has to do with tolerances (AKs were designed this way so they would function even if they're not well maintained) but an AK most certainly can be machined into firing more accurately if you have the knowledge and desire.

But honestly if you're needing accuracy out to those ranges you're better off going up to the .308, the 5.56 will be far more accurate but the energy left at that distance isn't optimal, the x39 will have more energy but accuracy is a problem. Neither is a great choice for distances like that

The plethora of 9mm carbines on the market are essentially just giving you a larger handgun thats easier to aim. The ammo is just as common as .223/5.56, it weighs the same, but ultimately gives you way less terminal effectiveness.
