You're better off creating an ethno-monarchy and establishing your legacy as a ruler who served his people better than any other. It seems that the transition to Juche and resistance of Soviet/Chinese influences was the only thing that kept NK from collapsing when the USSR and the whole Warsaw Pact came crashing down.
