It's not true. We had a war about it because Germany reluctantly declared war on the jewnited states. Because the jewnited states declared war on their military ally, Japan. Because japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Because they threatened an attack after warning the jewnited states that all the harsh sanctions were an act of war and they wouldn't take it. Even though the POTUS ran an anti-war platform. Even though the majority of Americans were against another war with Germany especially because the majority of Americans were German or Germanic.
