America is on the path to civil war. Nowhere is this more evident than in Durham, N.C., and the reaction to the statue toppling there.
Many people on the right are dumbfounded by this action. In our eyes, these idiot lefties are throwing away the sympathy they got from Charlottesville to topple a few statues. The problem we're currently facing is that, from our perspective, that's true. Half the country saw that statue fall and felt sick to their stomach. They lost all sympathy they had for antifa and BLM.
The problem is that these protesters, antifa and BLM, don't care what that half of the country thinks. They don't even interact with that half of the country. Everyone they know thinks this was a great thing: millions of lefties are encouraged by this wonderful "direct action."
And so the cycle continues. Lefties will topple another statue somewhere: they'll feel more encouraged, while conservatives become more revanchist. Someone on the right will retaliate, and the tables will turn. Over the next few years, watch as the battle lines become clear. People will be pushed to one or the other extreme. It might never become a full, declared civil war, but a lot of people will die.
If you're not willing to risk your life, move to Canada when it gets worse. Nobody'll be safe from this.
