Why should I feel responsible for what my ancestors did?

You shouldn't. And without a thorough examination of your entire lineage, you can't even say your ancestors did anything wrong. People act like every person in America had thousands of slaves at their disposal when a) that isn't true and b) only wealthy people could afford slave labor.

It's Christian thing to do.
The problem is if you go far back enough, the African blacks probably bullied the proto-European nerds out of the African paradise and into the cold barren wastelands that became Europe, but Darwinian natural selection in the unliveable climate of ice age Europe made the proto-European nerds the strongest of all the human sub-species, and while they were the absolute victims for several tens of thousands of years, the last 500 years is just the beginning of poetic justice.

I guess because ONLY punishing the people who actually did the crime is pretty much Sharia law. Punishing someone for what someone in their family did is a good atheist/pagan/christian tradition.
If you're going to act like you're the best thing since sliced bread because your great great grandaddy invented sliced bread then you should also be judged because he had slaves.

Blacks were always the worst slavers
