Soviets rewrote history.
Not just this but all history including the manufacture of fake monuments and buildings to create the illusion that the made up history was real.
So you might have a mode all castle built in 1960 for example.
They had no incentive not to make up lies about the Germans and would absolutely fake history.
For example building a gas chamber that never actually existed and writing it into the history books.
