That's the Legion of a hundred years ago. The Legion today is vastly different, a lot of people in it now are ex-special forces from other countries and many people are rejected for not meeting their standards (they even refer to the youngsters trying to join as "generation Playstation".) Also, while they do offer new identities, criminals are nowadays handed over to the police and you'd better not be caught with drugs in your system during your exams. New identities are now commonly used for men trying to escape alimony, or Frenchmen pretending to be Belgian or Canadian so they can join the FFL. You're in for a though time.
