Serious question for left wings: how does White Supremacy not fit perfectly into the concept of Identity Politics? I would even go so far as to say that it's a logical step down that path, how is it not? After all, a political ideology built on the foundation of a group of people's racial and cultural identity.
I've heard lots of BLM supporters say things like "I only support Black Business" and "Only date other blacks" and that sounds pretty much exactly the same as a lot of White Supremacist rhetoric. So how are these things incompatible? How is Race Supremacy not a logical step down the road of Identity Politics?
For the record I'm actually Native American, not white. I'm sure some people read the above statement and have already begun typing their "Lol fucking white people" canned responses.
I feel like the answer to my question is: Because they're white. Which feels pretty racist to me and I fundamentally don't agree with that.
