It's more that it cannot be properly handled due to the way 4chan works.
Perfect example for that is one autist on another board I'm frequently. He gets severely triggered by one specific topic and every time it is brought up he'll throw a huge shitfit and make sure to shitpost the thread to death. The mod always appears a couple minutes later and starts nuking all posts attached to his IP and constantly banning him, but he is essentially battling against autism since all it takes for the guy to continue is to switch to airplane mode and back.
And the guy has been doing this for fucking years. Without some kind of permanent account system (which no one wants, for good reason) you cannot effectively curtail this kind of behavior.

I've been banned a couple times from other boards because I saw posts with similar content stay up for dozens of hours with seemingly no consequences, so I assumed it's fine on that board. It wasn't even that I intentionally violated the rules, it was that you weren't able to tell how the mod interprets the rules because there was never any fucking visible indication of him enforcing them.

Ok I have read through most of the posts in this thread and I propose my own solution. Let me explain the backstory first:
4chan in the beginning wasn't right winged. It wasn't a "bastion of the nazis" it was simply a bastion of free speech, a website where the community couldn't give less of a shit about other peoples opinions and feelings. That was rare, because literally any other forum on the internet always had a numer one rule of: "Be polite, don't offend people, be nice to each other". This attracted a lot of shitposter and involuntarily also a lot of right wingers (which, just like the shitposters, had the problem of beeing banned for expressing their opinions on any other website). So with time 4chan got infiltrated.
All other opinions got drowned out. Pretty much everyone shared one ideology. Call it the internet version of the 3rd Reich. You could go about your day and do your thing, discuss any topic on any board as long as you shared the same opinion. Fuck it call it the "original safe space for nazis and trolls who like to offend other people". We could say what we wanted without repercussions of any kind. After a while it became too much because every second thread got derailed into polit-talk to the point where moot opened /pol/ in 2011 (?). So the brown-talk died down, got drained from the site, contained in one board and now the leftists and normies are invading, because its (almost) safe to express your leftist opinion on any other board.

My Idea: Open the floodgates. Close /pol/. Let all of this political shittalk and all of these opinions that /pol/ has flood the boards again. Drown out all other opinions. Bump threas to hell and back. Sage em until they slip off the page.
