They've never had to be responsible for themselves and when the reality of adulthood hit them, they found themselves in debt, improperly educated and unable to obtain a job save for some lucky ones via nepotism.

They fall into the gibs mindset because they feel like they already put in their due and are wondering why the world isn't opening itself up to them. They are largely to be pitied and helped up, but it has to be done one person at a time. Their parents failed them so as their neighbors and countrymen it falls to us to drag them into maturity.

And if the child doesn't want to listen? Show them why you're the one in charge.
