I still admire the culture and aesthetics of the Catholic Church. I like the Latin Mass, the hymns and Eucharist adoration. But I am convinced 100 percent that they have a faulty theology and the Orthodox are the true tradition.

In short, because the Western Empire fell they considered the West to be uneducated and savage. But once they got hold of the works of the Scholastic doctors and the Latins poked holes into their theology they started to grasp at straws to refuse to join them (over petty things as azymes, for example), which ultimately led to the whole Orthodox is more mystic meme (completely ignoring the Scholastic tradition as it grew in the East).

You can easily see that the Greek Church schism was based on mob rule, since they rejected the reconciliation at the Council of Florence that their own representatives ratified.
