To be fair the US has created an unworkable situation after 50 years of an official diversity immigration policy. Altering one's population with tens of millions (45 million legal immigrants since 1965 to be exact + ~30 million illegal immigrants) of foreign transplants is something that a hostile foreign power would try to force on its enemies. No competent or responsible state with inflict it on ITSELF. But that's just what the US did. It also gutted civics education, destroying any faint hope of uniting the disparate races, ethnicities, and religions under a single civic nationalist ethos. The US is barely a real country anymore. It is almost 1/3 foreign born. It's a time bomb to balkanization.

Frankly, Russia doesn't even have to try to make the US collapse. It will happen in due time no matter what. However China and Russia have every reason to want it to happen sooner rather than later. Remember, Yuri Bezmenov said you can't force a country to be subverted, you can only pull it in the direction it already wants to go.

I spend a lot of time contemplating the benefits of a permanently weakened America. I have an emotional hangup over seeing it end, though I can't honestly say I feel kinship with the majority of the population anymore (what even IS an American at this point). I came to the conclusion that the nation died a slow death a long time ago. We live in Zombie America. I have an emotional attachment to the superficial trappings of our culture, and the mythos of our settlement and foundation, but it's all in the head. The romanticism doesn't reflect reality. Knowing this doesn't stop the sadness though.
