I think this is because much of the beliefs here can be cleaned up and presented as rational, non racist beliefs.

Face it, just because we post about race alot, that's only a small portion of what beliefs we all hold. Not really. Significant steps were taken after the first civil war to make sure we don't have another. Odds are very low any state would try to rebel, and if they did the military units are mixed explicitly to break up state loyalty, so the best they might have would be explicitly state oriented forces. Realistically speaking a civil war would be caused by a bunch of people like antifa staging a rebellion, but we're nowhere near that point yet.

The US would have to suffer a massive economic collapse before a real civil war becomes even remotely feasible. As long as we can remain fat, dumb, and happy, its not something most Americans would leave the couch for. This is exactly why we should have elected Bernie.
