To be honest WWII's start date is retarded. The Sino-Japanese war started in 1937 and its pre-1939 death totals are included in the WWII total yet somehow World War II didn't start until 1939.
If we're being technical WWII didn't become a global war until Peal Harbor because that was the event that linked the European theatre to the Pacific theatre.
