It's not pushing people away from my understanding. The people who are condemning the alternative right have always condemned the alt right and what they stand for. However, open conversation (but power levels hidden) will highlight hypocrisy and double standard of this weekend. Normies obviously don't like the hate and violence. But they also know that the mainstream is getting way out of hand and should be shown that they are totally full of shit outside the obvious details.
