Short term goal? The elite want minorities to be be the new serf class, utterly dependent on the wealthy elites, the new "nobles" of society in the nu-medieval society they want to build.

The plan was, Obama would get four years to clean up W's mess and do some liberal pet causes (half-assed health care reform) while bailing out Wall Street and then lose to Mitt Romney. Romney would finish undoing Obama's stuff and give Paul Ryan some experience in power, before Hillary would come along and get her promised run as President in 2016.

But Obama won in 2012 plus got health care reform passed. And the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. Which was another black swan event.

These things embolden the elites to go further; much further in accelerating their agenda. In general, they were moving at a much slower pace; one-two agenda pieces being done every generation so no one ever catches on. So they truly thought, Obama being re-elected, plus being able to pass health care reform and a Supreme Court allowing gay marriage to be made legal, meant they could speed up their agenda.

Then there was Trump, who came out of nowhere. NO ONE saw Trump coming and for that, it made them continue accelerating because they are scared shitless Trump will derail the gains the elites have made
