front bumper has no paint/stripe/fog lights in fb picture because it is a replacement bumper. according to car report, the challenger was in an accident in Ames, Iowa on 07-03-2015, in which it sustained "functional damage".

what's interesting is the fb picture he posted, and the comments from his aunt, were made on 06-08-2015, a month before the accident was reported, and the replacement bumper is already installed in his picture.

there's also a discrepancy with the mileage on the odometer in the report. on 05-31-2015 the car was at Kerry Toyota in Florence, KY and the mileage was logged at 101,111. the accident occurred on 07-03-2015 in Ames, Iowa, which is 600 miles away, 1200 round trip. the car's mileage was logged again on 07-07-2015 back in Kentucky at 101,117, a difference of only 6 miles.

After looking at the high res pictures and watching the video many times, the car does have a badge but the stripes must have been added. There is minor cosmetic damage to the plastic around the trunk pre-impact it's possible someone attacked it.

The video is where things get complicated, initially he brakes then accelerates before impacting the other cars, this why airbags did not deploy and it was possible to drive the car. My guess is his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas due to panic, alternatively but less likely he carefully planned to to slow down to minimize damage at impact and accelerate to push the other cars forward, seems overly complex.

Most of the force occurs post impact and launches the other cars, the energy comes from the cars motor more than initial inertia. The crash test differs so much due to the impact only covering a portion and being a rigid object. Hitting another car lessens the damage, the acceleration also means the front raises a little allowing it to slide over the car in front a little. The metal folding and glass spider webbing suggest this is the same vehicle as used in the crash, so for that bumper to still be attached strongly suggests the car was driven backwards to that place.

There's also the question of what happened to the patsy's Challenger if he drove it to the rally. If this one is a different, reinforced one, is there CCTV video anywhere showing the patsy's car?
