I missed the peak of the Google controversy, but this really needs to be posted. What's happening in the Tech industry is deeply disturbing to me and may affect my life personally.

Is there anything we can do about this? In the past I used to feel like big companies would avoid shit like this to avoid public outcry. But as I've grown more cynical I've noticed they don't care anymore, if they ever really did to begin with.

I'm interviewing for a tech job in Cali.

Keep your head down. Remove Trump stickers. Don't discuss politics at work at all, AT ALL. Someone asks you your opinion, say "I don't bring politics into work".

It's your career. Being a martyr won't do anything. This will blow over and people will be normal in 5 or so years.

Money speaks louder than words. If you focus on being a great programmer and nothing political, your company will keep you on.
