This is what American troops have died to protect. This is what "I will fight against what you say with every breath, but I will fight to my last breath for your right to say it!" fucking means. We don't get to selectively pick and choose which groups or rights we will defend. We don't get to scream out about how great our Constitution is, or how great our troops who die to defend it are, then turn around and use identity politics to condemn the group rather than conservative rationale to defend their rights protected by these vets and that document.
You either choose one or you choose the other, but you can't have both. One is a leftist ideology that fights based on feelings, emotion, and identity politics. The other is a conservative rationale based on facts, laws, and logic.
I'm tired of seeing both people and politicians scream at a group rather than, at the very least, simultaneously condemning the fact that a group, who had a lawful permit to assemble, should have been both guaranteed the right to assemble/ freedom to speak, and should have been guarded by the national guard itself if that's what it took to protect these rights.
I'm thankful that an African American conservative, Larry Elder on Twitter, spoke out on this issue. Even Bill Fucking Clinton spoke on this issue.
The fact that so many conservative politicians only used their platform to rail against the ideology while ignoring their duty to protect their right to voice it is fucking shameful and dishonorable to every American who has fought for their fucking right to say it.
The time for rational discourse and polite debate passed. There was a time when even George Lincoln Rockwell could speak freely at Berkeley. Those times are over. Yes OP, it's sad but this is the way it is in real life.
