What were your experiences during the 80s-90s?
Was your life better than it is today?

>>
I was a kid in the 80s, and a teenager in the 90s
I used to be able to play out in the neighborhood with my friends until the street lights came on, we used to also walk like 3 miles to the mall, there was no pc takeover like today, you just weren't allowed to say nigger but faggot was a-ok
People didn't act all offended, and were really against marijuana, it was a different time
>>
Music still mostly sucked and ya had to go back to the 60's for good tunes unless you were a disco or pop 40 geek. People were not nearly as degenerate as they are now and for the most part still showed basic manners. Computers were just starting to come out. Even microwave ovens and answering machines and beepers were hot shit if you had one. Business and real estate were booming. Seemed the cash cows would never die but they did circa 2009. Yes, my life was better than it is today, chiefly because there was hope.
>>
>>137119404
equally pozzed with a total lack of awareness
>>
I was a kid in the 90s. All I remember was actually going outside to play with kids. Seriously American children don't do this anymore, least not that I can find. Parks are always empty, no kids in the streets playing basketball...Everyone is at home filling time with entertainment. Nobody socializes
>>
Uh... the 70's much better than 80s or 90s.
I was comatose drunk most of the 80's

People were such emotionally triggered faggots like they are today. Also girls weren't such cunts because social media didn't have every betacuck gassing up every girl, uglies included so now they all think they're hot shit when it's only 10-15% should act that way.

80s and 90s were the midday and evening for the Boomers. They ran the world. Into the ground. The rest of us were helpless passengers in the back seat.

It was probably the last time that kids were allowed to be kids. I'll put it this way, there was no one at my high school that was political in any way, shape, or form. I knew a girl that was really against littering, that was about it. Today it seems like another world.

80's teen.
We would get on our bmx's, take the train 20 miles to the skatepark, ride all day.
Get the train home at twilight.

We had no mobile phones, no concerned parents constantly hovering round us & we looked out for each other.

If I was a kid now it would drive me batshit mad, everything looks so supervised & everything HAS to involve girls.

>Makes sure to consult your TV Guide so you can program your VCR to record your favorite TV show
>Or get your kid to do it because you're a Boomer and fail at anything computerized

Nobody had their face glued to a phone or gameboy. which was nice. But otherwise, it was just as shit as it is today. (maybe even moreso in some ways) This is when affirmitave action really came en vogue. So standards across the board was lowered. So it wasn't all that hard to get a job. thanks to Bubba Bill, you could get financed for a house even if you were a junkie. Which was also kinda nice, but clearly caused major issues 10-15 years down the road. The 86' Miami shootout was the last nail in the coffin of the Barney Fife idea of cops. This is also when Drugs really became a noticable thing for the middle class. Not just illicit drugs, but now people were starting to get perscribed pills for anything under the sun. Your kid is too hyper? give him some downers so he's a damn zombie. Wife gets moody during her period? here's 3 different untested anti depressants so she's only a bad day away from a breakdown.

Don't listen to people who were chidlren at this time, unless they were homeless, the rose tinted glasses will be especially thick.

some things better some worse, inner cities were crack fueled war zones, food choices a lot more limited. Was nice to have a clear enemy in the USSR. AIDS scared people abstinent. 90s we're cool cuz had internet without social media, and good drugs and party scene. There was a sense in the late 90s that the world was actually getting better. >porn, cigarettes and alcohol were a hard thing to get if you were under 18
Correct for porn (when porn first came to VHS, it was just for creapy adults) - we non-adults only got magazines with maybe a boob or two.

Cigarettes and alcohol were everywhere when I grew up. Nobody would care. I bought beer for my dad when I was 6 years old togehter with my 9 yr old brother - my dad would set up the grill on Saturday and said "go to the local shop before it closes at 12noon, get some beer" and we went!
>>
>>137119404
I'm just glad I grew up in the 90s. It was nice when everyone played outside all summer. Having friends over to actually play hockey or baseball or football are some of the best memories I have.

Even when you wanted to play videogames you had all of your friends in one room playing on the same TV which was much more fun than playing online in a room by yourself.

Good times.
>>
>>137119404
I remember crossing the Canadian-USA border to drink in Canada. Was easy to go there when you were underage and even in high school with a fake id.

the border guard on the us side was always playing a banjo and laid back in his chair, would simply wave you through if you were white goys, if you had a nigger with you then all hell broke loose

remember a friend who brought a nigger had his car torn apart by the canadians

Better now, people are more awake to the bullshit. 90s were a liberal paradise, seinfeld, doctor katz, jurassic park, the internet was taking off. People were more optimistic, but more delusional about the real power players. You should be excited to be young at this juncture in history.
>>
Music was limited to what came on the radio and it was all top 40 lowest common denominator dreck. Imagine if all you knew was Madonna and Prince Michael Jackson and that was it. Same thing with video programming, the closest you could come to anything remotely interesting was called "public access cable" and even that was hit and miss.

32 here. I will be able to provide a good life for my kids but I feel upset with the direction economically our country has taken with globalism. Stagnant wages with rising cost of living. I'm 34 and life in the late 80s and 90s wasn't that great. I lived in a lower class Philadelphia neighborhood with a heroin epidemic. T

90s Kids here.

Nikelodean was brilliant back then, nothing like today - see Ren and Stimpy.

SNES was my console, and then I made a fuck-up on the 32-bit "great leap" by getting a 3DO Panasonic console.

By 1997 I got a PC and fell in love with games like Red Alert, Age of Empires and any type of RTS.

Internet was slow but more free - it felt far more varied than today. It was through Altavista that I discovered Oswald Mosley, and a period drama based on the same subject aired on Channel 4. I watched it religiously, and it introduced me to Wagner.

Laughed during the minute silence for Priness Diana - I thought she was a traitor for fucking a Muslim as young as this and deserved to die.

Hated the way Britain was beginning to change in 1997 with the victory of Blair, and so took to computer games - I believe all modern boys do this until they become adults... you will grow bored of computer games one day.
>>
>>137126121
yea im a serb

the bosnians wanted to secede from yugoslavia and make their own country, the only real problem to this being the significantly high serbian, and even croat populations. The bosnians were just 1 third of the state, but held most of the central cities population wise. The croats and bosnians fought eachother for most of the war except the last year, were they combined forces in a shaky alliance to destroy the serbs. Fortunately we survived that and ended up with our defacto state, now controlling 49% of bosnia with the highly likely option of seceding in the future.

Muslims every were are pretty fucked up and terrorist like. They are also very stupid and easily manipulated by thier leaders. Fikret Abdic was the only muslim leader in bosnia that i actually liked and probably represents the only normal bosnians that country has ever had.

The bosnians fought the turks with us originally 600 years ago or something like that, but then they sold us out and became muslims to avoid being taxed/raped. My ancestors probably actually fought their way deep into bosnia trying to avoid the turks, and probably slaughetered any turks or bosnians that stood in their way. Since we are essentially the same people, just different religions and histories, i could someday consider bosnians on more firendly terms if they stopped being muslims.

The croats on the other hand, although i dont hate them like i do with muslims, i always remember as sell outs and austrian stable boys. Somewhat 1000 years ago or something we were considered the same people but when the church split in 1054 they became "roman" catholic while we remained orthodox. Those catholics fucked europe up by using the first few crusades to attack us instead of helping us keep the turkroaches out of the balkans and even anatolia proper. By us in this instance i include all the other orthodox chirstians.

>>
>>137119404 There were more social things to do, because you had to go outside to live your life before the comfy phones and Internet we have now.

When it came to international things,we were much dumber, like; shows, games, music were whatever the local record store or video store had to offer, unless you wanted to pay big bucks for imports as some niche store or monthly trade show, since ebay wasn't around. News was the paper and the handful of NBC, ABC, FOX, etc., there didn't seem to be daily controversies, because you only had those few sources to choose from. I feel like we were more naive back then.

I would say life is better now for sure, everything's extremely convenient, for better or worse. People can communicate and learn things much quicker, most media can be found for free and downloaded easily, you can easily find like-minded people to talk to, and you can do it all wirelessly, using lithium ion batteries..

It was fucking awesome. Television had good stuff on it and didn't want to control how you thought. Stores had good variety of fruits and vegetables. Restaurants weren't selling frozen food. Gas was way cheap. Cars were affordable to the middle class. A 50k job could support a family of 4. The internet wasn't publicly open, but you could get online and connect to bulletin boards and play text based games. everyone pirated software, but you could buy magazines are learn how to program your own game in basic. Cable TV had decent content where you could get it. MTV actually had just music videos for a long while.

I actually took a WW2 rifle into my school for show and tell (sans firing pin). Nobody was worried about their kid being kidnapped and parents spanked their children regularly without the government taking them away.

This.

Completely different social irl environment.

Much shittier now in that regard. Being out in the real world meant you were likely to end up talking to people, rather than encountering a bunch of zombies glued to a screen avoiding eye contact if at all possible.

This resulted in it being super easy and just natural to make friends in real life. Just kinda happened automatically.

It was as normie as possible, also people loved beanie babies, flea markets, snoop dogg, dr dre, 2pac, biggie, and wu tang clan was awesome on casette.

Also it costs too much money to call long distance, pay phones sucked, and everything was cheaper, 98 cents for gas, 1 dollar for a 20 oz coke, you could look up under the cap of a 20 oz coke and see if it was a winner for a free coke or not.

I agree that the 70s were the fun times when you can remember them. If you remember the 70s, you weren't doing it right.
What I miss about the 80s&90s are females that actually wanted to be females, and trim women were the norm, and not the exception. Now we are surrounded by pods of whales, that are just nasty bitter whores.

I remember walking past the video store to get to the bus stop, by myself in my quiet little town and seeing Rambo, Indiana Jones and Back to the Future posters. At school we would probably learn about Colonial America, our forefathers and some math, because this was the 80s in NE. After school I would usually watch TMNT and The Real Ghostbusters, then head to a friends house to play NES or battle our GI Joes against our Transformers. I would head home and watch reruns of The Muppet Show or Smothers Brothers with my grandparents, and get up to date on how terrible the rest of the world was before bed.

The most important take away isnt the nostalgia of life back then. It was that I didnt know what a faggot or a nigger was, and I didnt need to justify my own existence on a daily basis to people in far flung corners of the country/world.

I was just a kid.

I was born in 1985 and my experience of the 90ies was pretty cool. I remember being the coolest kid on the block with a Sony Discman (to replace the tapes) that had shock protection, so you could use it while jogging.

I remember Nirvana and The Prodigy being pretty cool cats.

I remember violence not really being an issue anywhere. If someone got into a fight, they would stop once one of them landed on the ground and be best buds after.

I remember being able to talk to anyone I met on the street about anything without fearing that I needed to moderate my speech.

There was no wrong-think or thought crime.

I remember cell phones being a rare deal, and internet was dial up, so getting a hold of your friends usually involved scheduling to meet in advance or just risk them not being home by showing up at their door.

I remember that people had a proper work ethic - even younger kids. I had my first job when I was 14 years old (pretty basic shit, filling cement bags at a factory using a machine) during the summer, which allowed me to understand the value of money.

I remember that "disco" (all parties were called this, for some reason) were pretty basic, but always drew a crowd.

I remember there being ingroups for stereotypes, like "smokers" (being the most hardcore shit we had back then), "jocks" (anyone playing soccer or track and field), "nerds" (who focused on school more than anything) and misfits (who tried to fit in everywhere, but always came off as incredibly awkward).

No matter what, people still got along.

I remember dating when I was very young.. It meant sending notes through a friend of a friend to the one you were interested in, hoping for a "yes" to the question if they liked you or not.

Later on I remember being brave enough to actually date people and asking them out. I bought a rose and handed it to a girl from school and asked her out, and she said yes (risky move seeing as a lot of people were watching).

My 90s experiences? Television was king. The simpsons were untouchably good. The music was so so in Pop, grunge was big for 3 years, Goth was like a weed that sprouted but nobody knew what it actually meant as being closed off from so many different cultures we could only go along with instinct to hate them. Homosexuals were taboo and were treated like they were insane and one of the signs of that was if a person had no interest in sport. Pokemon was just about burst into the cancer it was. I would liken the average person during that time to any small village you can visit. Gullible people had less influences to deal with.

Women embraced their femininity notably more, and it was considered weird if one was trying to be too androgynous and anti-traditional, as is fashionable now. Entertainment media and increasingly left wing social politics have done their part to normalize what would have been considered examples of deviant behavior, something originally not to aspire towards. When there is no longer a widespread shield of discernment in distinguishing right from wrong behaviors, the wrong behaviors become "right," and right, "wrong."

Note that no one broke his bones or anything, but he did earn a black eye and some wounded pride.

Nobody spent time on computers back then. When I was a kid, we used to run around on our bikes with little to do. Whenever you went out in the evening, you would encounter groups of young boys running around in the streets. It was pretty fun actually. It feels almost like my life slowly ended after I got wired to the web.

Got to see the end of Glam Rock, see rock almost die, then be resuscitated for a few more years by Guns n Roses and the Grunge wave. GnR acted as a sort of transitional band for rock until Grunge took hold.

Girls slutification was in progress (I mean shit, that started in the 60's), but good girls were at least still available.

"Nigger" was about the only politically incorrect thing to say. Everything else was fair game. NO ONE was supersensitive like they are now.

There was a general optimism in the country. Tech boom started. Everything felt new; America felt like America where we kept pushing the technical boundaries of the world but maintained good, wholesome values at the same time and it was considered normal and good, not internalized patriarchy or whatever nonsense they call it now.

Glad I was alive to see it, anon. Two of the best American decades.

That's not easy to answer since it was a long time ago. So obviously I was younger, my family was younger, there were more possibilities for the future simply due to time, etc. But also I was dumber than I am now, didn't have resources and experience accrued over the years, and so on.

If I were 18 in 2014 instead of 1994 probably I would be worse off since it would be much harder to get ahead in school and work. Thankfully I'm old enough to not be discriminated against for being white and young enough to not be discriminated against for being old.

I was born in 1970.

There were some bad parts: my generation was fed a constant threat of nuclear war, acid rain, killer bees, and oh yeah all of that free love our parents had been having now meant you could die instead of just getting herpes at the worst. I mean that shit was everywhere. We figured that the future was going to be like Mad Max.

On the other hand, people weren't such tremendous snowflakes. You could be assured that anyone who had access to the Internet prior to 1995 was intelligent and interesting. Black people were largely not tremendous thugs, although that started changing in the late 80s pretty fast. Up until then, you could be friends with someone who was black and there wasn't this huge racial tension all the time.

I feel like we are being divided up, made to fight with one another like animals in a gladiator's ring.

Wonderful. People didn't have mobile phones so you actually had great conversations and you really spent quality time with your family and friends.

Urban culture hadn't ruined things yet. You could go to a Pizza Hut and have a nice sit down dinner. And the food was great.

When you went to a movie people actually paid attention. Going to the theater was considered a big deal. It was a treat.

People were genuinely happy. The country was prosperous. You could celebrate masculinity, patriotism, heterosexuality. All of these things were good and normal.

Music, movies and culture all tended to be positive and uplifting, and that had great effect on the self esteem of the nation.

In a way I wish I had been in my 20s during the 80s. The dating scene must have been nice because the scumminess of the 60s and 70s had been shunned and women cared about their appearance. Born in '86 here. Times were simpler. Technology was simpler. People were happier in the 90s from the economic bubble that actually created some economic positivity. I'd say life was better in so far as you didn't have so much disruptive technology dividing society. People had simple disagreements on politics that divided them, but it really nearly as rabid as it is today. Medical tech was coming into its own, so lifespans and knowledge of diseases and cancers were becoming widespread. People were happy to be able to email each other and use the giant online yard sale that was eBay.

Funny to think of how much simpler everything was 20 years ago. I miss it sometimes, but, being an AnCap, I'm happy that the disruptive technologies are bringing about a Libertarian revolution. People are waking up to the fact that government is too big and too powerful; even the moderates and slightly left-leaning people. Watching the X-Files was the height of the population's thinking that government was all-powerful and all-knowing. We now know they're mostly incompetent. Technology and disruption have shown the emperor's new clothes for what they are. Cryptocurrencies are democratizing money slowly but surely. This means that people will actively be able to defund governments, as they clearly can't constrain themselves.

Power to the individual.

I always felt the PC in the early/mid 90's was mostly done with good intentions.

Today - most of the PC stuff just feels like SJW trying to pump hits on their social media and "punish" people that don't do what they want.

me and my friends used to ride our bikes to little caesars and buy a yuge slice of pizza for a dollar. we used to ride our bikes to the park.

we played football on the street (residential area), luckily we were never hit by a car. i used to go over to my friends' houses and play super nintendo and sega genesis.

i used to walk to the liquor store by myself to buy a bag of hot cheetos and a cherry coke.

good times. no cell phones. internet was still in its infancy. i used to go to the library to do research and use the computers.

we all talked about wwf and stuff. attitude era.

In the 80s niggers were still an enigma. Nobody trusted them and they were just a minor amusement when they manged to pretend to act human. But the overall culture was one of white wit and comfort. White culture was still able to mostly thrive without being obstructed by the nigger retardation.

Things began to change in the early 90s when the media began to embrace retard nigger culture. Standards suddenly lowered dramatically. The overall tone of society shifted and became defeated and decades later you have the awful world we live in now. The less unhampered society is by niggers and minorities that cause problems and lower standards the more peaceful and productive it is. That was the 80s. Reality was still in force.

Just compare the pop music of the 80s to now. You can see society has become ass raped by redardation. It's a grim awful world we live in now in comparison. All the transgender blm etc stuff terrifies me and there doesn't seem to be any way to escape it.

Can't just live your life without a nigger or tranny to disrupt it and blame you for their own retardation.

This. Born in '71. People could take jokes about themselves. We could listen to George Carlin, Robin Williams, and Eddie Murphy make fun of us and we could laugh along. The world was more straightforward. There were males, females, and gay. If we wanted to interact with each other we did it face to face, and the media still had credibility.
Now everyone is hyper-sensitive, the media is a joke, kids socialize without ever leaving their rooms, and I lost count of how many genders there are. I long for the old days. It felt safer even with the constant threat of nuclear attack.

The feminization of america is really deeper than people give it credit for.
There was a time when two men could like men punch each other out over a disagreement, and not 5 minutes later be sharing beers and laughing about it. Now you have "men" intent on the total eradication of anyone who disagrees with them, this goes all the way to the top levels of government. And this is an entirely female way of acting, women have always been the type to plot revenge for years over minor slights. We're just now seeing the physical effects, but the mental effects have been infecting us for 20 years at least.

From what I remember of being a kid in the early 90s, the internet was nonexistent, and nobody had cell phones. I used to go outside a lot and see friends all the time.

We had fun being outside and hanging out at places (the arcade, the mall, etc.). If you stayed at home all weekend you were a loser.
I remember being really excited about playing hockey with my buddies. Renting a movie was always fun too, but it sucked because the new movies where always rented out really fast. I had to wait weeks sometimes before I had the chance to rent a movie that just released. It was VHS at that point, DVD's didn't exist. I remember loving music, and carrying my walkman around everywhere. I could only carry a few tapes, so I would listen to the same Led Zepplin tapes on repeat all the time. I always had extra AA batteries so I could keep the jams playing.

The way I see it, technology was less advanced, but it seemed like everyone's social skills were much more advanced. After 9/11 it all seemed to change. Does anyone else relate?

Things were more or less stable through 9/11. The introduction of things like facebook are what sent things into the dirt. Social media is an entirely Jewish invention. It expanded out bubble of personal influence to such a size that it destroys any bubbles that come into contact with it, and overrides what used to be the collective community bubble. Now instead of people linking up geographically and having to consider other viewpoints, they link up ideologically and compound their errors in thought with bad group think.

Born 1983.

Everything in the 80s was hideously brown. Your house, your clothes, your car, the stores you went to. I remember seeing old Kodaks of my parents and "vintage style" advertising and thinking everything in the 50s-70s was a lot better looking. Even the women seemed far better looking.

Niggers were a lot more violent than they are now. 2010s niggers are just irritating, 1980s niggers were terrifying.

Being a horny child was miserable. You just wanted to see boobs. And you never got to see them.

Hating no Internet to retreat to meant feeling very alone when you had a controversial opinion.

The multiculturalism, anti-racism shit was pushed hard in elementary school. I'm guessing I caught the early stages of that.

That is a fair generalization. Millenial SJWs are far more commonly radicalized and often stupid. The SJWs that are popular today were fringe in the 90s and probably considered sociopaths even by liberals.

Damn....Today faggots cant see that all changed after 2001, like a rift in our dimension and all we have now is chaos...

When whe see the towers falling i think our world went together..

9/11 is the diverging point when we crossed into the wrong timeline. Everything after felt off and kept getting worse until we got to how things are today.

fags need to understand that 9/11 was the functional end of the world, and the fumes of the "end of history" ran out by the middle of the 2000's. What this means is that the inertia of Western Civilization finally ran out and uncoincidentally this is right when shit like gay marriage triumphed. The reason everything feels like utter shit is because the world has lost its center. We've fully become swallowed by nihilism and things that once gave society direction and purpose like religion no longer influence enough people to matter. The spirit of gravity is drowning us and we'll die if we don't do something about that.

Western civilization is dead. Our only purpose now is to avenge it and ensure something better than this globalist modernist hellscape replaces it.

The 80s were garish and exciting. People got along in the country and there was a lot of money flowing.

The 90s were ok but as the decade moved on people got more and more sjwy

Everything really changed on 9/11. Suddenly Americans were split and it just hasn't been the same since. Oddly the split doesn't seem to be about 9/11 but how it was handled.

The left hated Bush and they haven't stopped hating since. The right went into a state of indifference until the race riots of BLM.

The fact 9/11 happened and all this shit that has followed really makes me want to believe in God. Like there has to be some ultimate punishment for the fucks that destroyed the all the good. And it's true, since 9/11 everything has felt different. It's not just the America was attacked by someone feeling, but everyone started to get really shitty after that point. And actually you can see something supernatural happen since Trump got elected, like what happened today. When literal communists and terrorists march, you have some nominal arrests, but things mostly progress smoothly. It's like vandalism and looting is par for the course. But when "white supremacists" march you have the government tripping all over themselves before other parties even show up, and shit doesn't go violent until antifa shows up, then it's a whole thing. You can actually see the beast violently reject the natural good.

We were successfully subverted during and post WW2 9/11 was certainly the catalyst for the end stages. As for social media, I know Orwell envisioned a world where there was no privacy, I just don't think he would have anticipated that that people would give it up so easily.

It's possible that social media is an offshoot of MK Ultra, or some other similar program. I believe that the State eventually realized that the People will do most of their work for them, if they could package self-sabotage as ego boosting bullshit. From there, they can control the flow of information to you effectively create a worldview they want you to ascribe to.

Even the Blockchain and crypto currency was created by the NSA, in 1996.
