Didn't that show get cancelled within a few episodes? I can't imagine it had much of a time to build a following and I doubt many people outside of 4chan knew who Sam Hyde was beforehand.

Heidecker's show "Decker" first premiered on Adult Swim last summer. It averaged 1.1 million viewers, which was enough for it to get renewed for 2 additional seasons given Tim Heidecker's 13 year, 5 show track record with Adult Swim.

Unfortunately for Tim, Season 2 saw ratings fall to half of what they were the previous year, reaching lows of 500,000 viewers. Turner executives then decided that instead of airing in late fall, the Season 3 episodes would be aired right after Season 2 ended, burning them off as quickly as possible to get the show off the air.

However, programmers at Adult Swim, desperate to save the show, moved Decker to airing directly after mega-hit Rick and Morty in a last ditch effort to keep it's ratings afloat.

Initially for Heidecker, this move may have seemed to be successful: the July 30th episode of Decker yielded 1.1 million total viewers and was the 10th most watched cable premiere of the night. However, what this also means is that Decker lost 68% of the 2.9 million viewers watching Rick and Morty directly before it.

Even worse, this past Sunday's Decker ratings were down an additional 22% from the week before.

This is a crazy theory that I have, I think Tim was legit terrified of MDE:WP gaining mass popularity doing better than Eric Andre 1st season primer.

Generally only MDE:WP been the only ones using actual legit cameras in the AS studio(they actually do have the 'good shit' ,but usually most everyone goes for the crummier cameras by choice)

Everyone at AS was afraid of them getting big. Why do you think Brett Gelman left after the show premiered and then said it was because "AS treats women like shit".
