Because white people are individual members of an individualist species who nevertheless try to live pro-social lives. Recognizing the self makes people from most societies turn criminal and narcissistic, but it makes us BETTER PEOPLE. We see the universal interests that are served by decency. Until people of other societies do the same, we will continue leaving them in the dust. The earth may well be inherited by the proud, and let them writhe in the polluted, overpopulated husk they make of it!
