In a purely technical sense, it's right. Software engineering is currently years ahead of robotics, so jobs that require dexterity, like a restaurant chef, are safe for a while, if only because it would be prohibitively expensive to build/maintain a robot with that many moving parts. Trying to go to college and get a purely mental job will be a pathway to obsolescence for anyone who isn't extremely smart and hard working.
But I get the feeling that that's not what the author was thinking when he wrote this...
