What we're seeing are symptoms of a bigger issue: regular normal people feeling pushed to the brink because of assertive - and easily offended people with subjective identity politics. You can't bully the image of any person forever and expect no pushback - that's naive. What the ""democratic"" left is doing is establishing itself as contrarian to anything that resembles conservative & right wing, but they've regressed to doing it with lack of intellectual honesty. When the alt-right applies intellectually dishonest "arguments" they're not entirely subjective ones, and they ultimately try to push for or against a specific point. The point is that intellectual dishonesty doesn't get anybody anywhere TRULY progressive, and the proof is in the pudding. We all need to stop with identity politics and really stop enabling ideas that cannot be held to an objective standard of criticism and discourse.
