the difference is moving 10x product for the one title that deserves a 9.5 rating, versus moving 2x product for 5 titles that deserve 6.0 ratings but were awarded 8.5 due to corruption.

The consumers have the same amount of disposable income, however the use of false advertising leads them to purchase inferior products. In the long run, it's damaging to (any) industry too -- who really wants to buy inferior products at premium prices?
