China used and kept NK as a shield to separate American forces from its borders,and as a tool to herrass Japan with,but when its costs more than do good,China might even fire at North Korea.
Until now,USA plays dominance,others play survival.

If the US decides to take out Kim, expect Chinese forces to assert control of any NK territory north of Pyongyang.
The northern regions of NK have some of the largest, untouched mineral and metal reserves in the world. It's extremely rich in coal, copper and gold.
With a new regime in place, the Chinese will be able to keep the murricans out and have direct access to NKs rich mineral reserves.
Something will happen. Most likely not war, but Kim will be removed. Either by the Americans or the Chinese.
