basically the more they pay, the less likely they are to admit to themselves that their education was bullshit brainwashing indoctrination. but if you pay too little then you care less cause it was cheap. so you have to pay just enough that you bend over backwards to justify your purchase.

They build luxury fitness centers with rock walls to attract freshmen, build up worthless departments to prove they're not racist, hire bullshit administrative positions and things like Diversity Counselor on 100k+ salaries to prove they're not racist again, meanwhile they're paying the guy who dedicated his life to studying physics $3000 a semester as an adjunct cause they suddenly have no money to hire any more full time professors as the tenured profs they hired in the 70s die off. Yet the price of the whole thing soars and gets less valuable every year.
