Bump, i am actually curious please

It's still in control.
>>

What do you mean?

Anyone?

You should be more worried about them being in control here, now.

my dad grew up. he told me a few stories. poverty was all around, but they weren't starving. ironically my relatives, who grew up under the system now see that, at least in some cases, the communist party was right. namely the inevitable decline of capitalism, and american imperialism.

I was 6 when communism got rekt in Hungary, so obviously all I remember is red flags and people attending the reburial of a primer minister who was killed after the 1956 uprising. I saw that on TV and that was my first experience of society and politics. People sat and stood all over the place in silence. It was the beginning of the end for commies, although (((many))) escaped justice and got away with their crimes. My grandpa spent 7 years in a POW labor camp in Ukraine, so he had personal experiences of Soviet reality and the conditions there. It must have been the longest 7 years of his life, although he lived to see his 90th birthday.

i think the USSR was better and i hope it comes back the way it fell.

in the USSR a lot of people had a secure life (in my surroundings) but not much growing potential, in the western world people can grow a lot but not everyone has a secure life.

Born in the 90s in Saxony, former GDR, near the polish border. My grandparents are expellees from Silesia and Pommerania, which are parts of todays Poland.

I'm living and working in Bavaria though because centuries of socialism have crippled Middle Germany or rather East Germany as they call it today.

Overall a lot of mixed stories from my family.
My father was a high ranking officer in the NVA (GDR's military), but a critic of the omnipresent nepotism and corruption. Some things he said although they were quite mildly, prevented him from climbing up the ladder, so to speak.

Long story short i fucking hate commies and all the leftist parties in todays Germany who are led by people who grew up in western Germany and never had to deal with the shit the commie opression has led to.
>>
>>136985089
I'm still alive. I watched Swan Lake on TV in 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt as two year kid. It was fun.
>>
I'm estonian born in 1987. Clearly I don't remember much other than there was a constant shortage of everything. My mom had to queue for almost the whole day for food and there wasn't never enough of it.
Some stuff like fruits were almost non-existent. I remember my dad buying some western goods like candies from a black market. The black market is essentially was the only place where you could get anything "special"
>>
>>136988046
Very, but mostly because of the sheer amounts of paperwork they have to do. They hardly get any time out on the beat.

And because of the massive amounts of money that is wasted on "community support officers", who are basically just guys who go around in police uniforms asking people kindly not to park their cars with their wheels on the footpath. After the terrorist attacks earlier this year though, the cuts to those cucks was blamed for it by Corbyn and the Labour party, probably because they're all card carrying union members.

No, he is actually perceived to be a positive figure, because he was anti-Stalinist and advocated breaking away from Soviet policies and removing Soviet control as much as possible. At time when he was in office (1953-55) Stalinist type persecutions decreased, living standards improved from totally shit to less total shit and even that was perceived as improvement. A young politician started his political career as a speaker at the reburial, he is today the PM of Hungary.

Politics and economy are run by former communist regime capos, law enforcement and judiciary are completely paralyzed, country is demilitarized (most generals were recycled communists and worthless professional salary-receivers anyway). Foreign investments are deliberately prevented on administrative and bureaucratic level and forests of laws and regulations (and discouraged by nonexistent legal state).
Media is either regime friendly and funded by a must pay public racket, or shady foreign capital, pushing their own (((global agenda))).
I don't see anything intelligent or organized enough to challenge the status quo. There was a brief window of opportunity to overthrow this regime after the war, 95'-00', but army was too dumb, complacent and compromised to pull it off.

Do you REALLY think the clowns that are put up in front of you depend on YOU, the American voter to elect them into office? And when you, the sovereign, hath spoken, do you think that you continue to have control over the person you elected? The truth is - you never did. The Democracy Makers are in control, not the filthy plebeians. How do you think a man can single-handedly run a nation?

The deep state is real and it is immortal. What the other Eastern European bros are telling you is apparent to us, but is hidden to you. If you want to know what a real democracy looks like - come to Eastern Europe.

There weren't that many chairs, the majority were standing. I can remember, I saw that on our black and white TV that people were standing all around in a public cemetery (except not on the graves) and that was the moment I understood kindergarten was just a small piece of society. Around the same time public statues erected to glorify Lenin and his fellow gangster got removed. Of course, it took me many years to grow up to understand what communism really was, a system I only saw as a kindergartener.

True dat. You can still randomly find doctors from Uganda who got studied here under commieism and decided to stay.
Our military university used to host a lot of foreigners as socialist help to friendly countries. Most of foreign students there were from Kadaffis Lybia and Sadams Iraq. My dad used to tell me stories how muzzies would spitroast a lamb in the middle of their dorm room, or how Lybian sunnis and Iraq shias would get into heated argument and proceed to completely wreck the dorm in a fight. As the university was about to expell them all, Kadaffi would settle the matter diplomatically, presumably sending large sum of money

There was a lot of anti-Jewish sentiment, since most top ranking commies were God's (((chosen))) people (who nevertheless were atheists). Yugoslavia was a major world power, leading the non-aligned movement, which gave it a great deal of independence.

People had normal jobs, lived a relatively humane existence, something you can't exactly do in capitalism, when you're relegated to a colony status like all the Yugoslavian republics have been since the breakup.

We produced our own quality TV shows, movies, entertainment, film festivals, music festivals, and so on, culture actually had a place in society and was funded by the state.

Cultural production since the war is practically zero in all ex-Yu republics, it's not that movies don't get made, it's just that they're all complete shit funded by various EU funds, coproductions, etc. so they have to be ideologically exactly the same.

Meanwhile, in a "terrible communist country", the state literally funded anti-state movies because they understood the importance of art and culture.

The foreign debt of each republic is currently greater than the foreign debt of the entire ex Yugoslavia adjusted for inflation, and we have sold all the infrastructure and natural goods to foreigners since, so we're paying rent to them for using stuff we build with our own hands (and largely unpaid work).

Everything is shit now.

as i said marxist-leninism provided a lot of good but it had flaws too, because it was all central planned it was good for a moment but jobs quickly became more diminishing, lenin had a plan for this i've been told (he wanted more decentralized planing so that the equality could be bolsterd by reflecting the enviroments needs), but stalin never went through because of his sanity issues.

>"The country could not be allowed to compete with Germany, France, and especially Britain, and the London and Luxembourg bankers could not extract their billions in a socialistic system. Yugoslavia had to die, and the Reagans, the Bush family, and Clintons helped make it happen," Butler narrates, citing Michael Parenti, Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC.

>Parenti elaborated that Washington's ultimate goal was to transform Yugoslavia into a Third World region. The plan envisaged splitting the nation up, opening its economy to Western corporatocracy and bankers, and dismantling Yugoslavia's industrial sector so that the nation would not be able to compete with Western manufacturers. In this context the Yugoslav population would become a cheap labor pool.

Read Kojeve, a Soviet spy who basically created the European Common Market (>European Economic Community>European Union), and predicted (and pushed for) the "Hegelian" synthesis of capitalism and communism on a global scale, which is happening now.

>"The universal and homogeneous state is `good' only because it is the last (because neither war nor revolution are conceivable in it: mere `dissatisfaction' is not enough, it also takes weapons!)

>In the final state there naturally are no more `human beings' in our sense of an historical human being. The `healthy' automata are 'satisfied' (sports. art, eroticism, etc), and the `sick' ones get locked up.As for those who are not satisfied with their `purposeless activity' (art etc), they are the philosophers (who can attain wisdom if they `contemplate' enough).By doing so they become `gods'.

Alright let me tell you how life was in Burma, a post socialist country.

Even though I never experienced it personally, my parents and grandparents would tell me the horrors of the socialist party(ran by the Jews of Asia, Hakka).

The government was ruthless, mowing down any form of resistance, I'm sure you've heard of the 8888 uprising, shi lei long a yei kin, as we call it.
>pic
Hundereds of citizens protesting alongside the courage of madam Aung San Suu Kyi, mowed down ruthlessly.

Our government treated the country like a plaything, changed the currency to multiples of 9s, sold our natural resources to China(money goes into their pockets), revoked notes without compensation and such.

Government wasn't the only thing we had to worry about, insurgents, were pretty ruthless as well. My mother's school teacher(travelling in a school bus) was literally bazooka'd by an insurgent who thought the school bus was a proxy sent by the government to take them out. Parts of her were retrieved and was given a proper burial.

Borders were unsecured as well, muslims, as usual, illegally steal to come in to our country and shamelessly call themselves Burmese, now you know them as Rohingya.

There was also multiple times when the military raided schools to catch "rebels" to the gov and shot them at sight, or beat them senseless. Students had to hide in warehouses aided by teachers.

Life was harsh back then, but I luckily never got to experience it.
>>
>>136996087
so communism can come back, but only because it must. its sad to see that people cant find peace or try and develope the system that lenin gave us, instead of some of these people who are right now in charge, the leaders of today have no vision and no good intend.

As for Cantonese, i just hear a few word similarities here and there.

Hokkien on the other hand is the lingua franca of Burma, I'm not fluent though, but I do notice alot of similarities.

A Bhutanese friend of mine taught me how to say "my name is ___" before.

1. Lenin, Lenin everywhere.
Lenin was literally a godlike figure - there have been plenty of children books about Lenin - Lenin here, Lenin there, Lenin makes Revolution, Lenin helps at a subbotnik, Lenin as a kid-prodigy etc. Lenin (or Brezhnev, or some other party people) on the front page of the goddamn kids magazine for 5-year olds. Lenin on every square. Lenin portrait in every class in the school and an extra Lenin shrine at the entrance. Pretty much the same stuff exists in North Korea about Kim Il Sung etc.

2. Deficit, deficit everywhere.

Some foodstuff like bread and milk could be bought without much hassle - sometimes the shop didn't have milk in stock, so you had to try another or wait till evening - maybe they will restock.

Other stuff like sugar, butter, meat was difficult to come by. Usually it went like this - one evening news spread around neighborhood that a truck with butter is expected at the local "supermarket". Only two packs per person, so everyone gets their entire family including little kids to go and stand in the queue in the -20°C freezing weather. After standing an hour or so in the queue and getting your damn butter, some people went to stand it again to get more - if you were unable to rally your family and have nothing to do after work anyway.

Sausages and other meat products - impossible to find. Those are seldom sold anywhere outside Moscow. My dad was lucky for having to go to business trips to Moscow couple of times a year, so every time he brought a full backpack of sausages, meat and whatnot - enough for a few months.

Other stuff, home electronics, clothing, etc. was also difficult to obtain. It was not the lack of money, but the chronic lack of any goods being sold. Again, being able to go to Moscow helps a lot.

It's only after Perestroyka as the land started being flooded with all the new foreign stuff via private 1-2-man shops ("co-operatives"), but this time people had too little money.

Not true completelly - the "black wave" which started in movies and then spread on literature was reaaaally hated by the party because it represented life in yugoslavia as grim and some movies were banned.

Especially when Miodrag Bulatovic wrote some of his more... ahem, "crazy" works. However, conflict breeds creativity - today with endless production every product is soulless - games, anime, music, it's all converging and it's crap.

I think people are desperate for a "meaningful" community - like, village chiefs or loving young romance, and they hope communism promises that i guess.

Actually I stopped respecting Lenin as I was told that he was such a prodigy and learned to read at 5. I learned to read at 4 though.
Everyone was forced to enter the young-communist organization in the school - the "Oktyabryata" ("kids of October") in the grade school, then the "Pioneers" in 4th grade I believe. Then the "Komsomol" ("Communist Youth") sometime near the end - but that was voluntary I think. So yeah, you've been brainwashed with Communism to the brim through your entire school life. In my time at school however everything started to fall apart around 1989 and the communism just quickly lost any relevance - at least for the children. They were more interested in all the new entertainment. But Lenin statues stayed where they are - and I guess they are still standing today.

I grew up in the States. I have thousands of stories about daily life in Albania during Hoxha's time. Ask something specific and I'll give you insight. I'm too high right now to just write things off the top of my head.

Who created Geneva convention, UN, international waters, free trade(open borders)...lets think about this. Well it was Christians. And who runs gold standard, well it's Christians aka monarchy of UK, where Rothschild work with queen and New York. Under that contract is of course also Rothschild and everything is what we call monetary system, a monarchy system. All founding members of EU were monarchies or occupied land by Anglo victors of WW2. Soros of course crashed the Ruble to go through all this, which is why Russia doesn't likes him that much. There are many Soroses of the world and you take their money, you pay the price. Poland takes money from Soros, they take money from EU, they take money from USA, then they get owned.

1) was USSR making "all races are equal" films/propaganda
2)was it legal to have interracial marriage in the ussr?
3)were the USSR supporting the Colonial White European Order in Africa and Asia?

There short answers please:)

China, North Korea have racial laws. Democracy of course doesn't since the goal of democracy is for people to not own anything, not have any culture, since this way they are very easily pushed like numbers around, working the wheel, believing rich people are hard workers and better, like kings. Socialism has government measured performance at work, guess what, this is what democracy doesn't has, since they like to (((private))) judge how much somebody works, judged by boss, who always overjudges his pets and himself.

I never understood this. What makes the period of time where Belarus area was under Polish control any more legitimate or 'truthful' history than Russia's period of control, which is seen as an encroachment/illegitimate? I know for a fact that Poland wasn't the first to control that area in the first place, but even that would be a stupid argument.

Why do you need guns? You need guns because police and border patrol doesn't do their job aka they overwork to get paid double and then additionally they sell guns to you. They screw you multiple times and no matter how many guns and police you buy, your crime will always go up. We had guns in Socialism for hunting, but criminals were too afraid from police to try to fire a bullet in the street, so such crime didn't exist, what existed is inside of house crime problems. Sweden is a country with a lot of guns, how are they so cucked? USA the same. Christians have big mouth, they don't solve problems, they only create problems and exploit until nothing else is left to exploit, then they migrate elsewhere. And this is why you have refugees.

There's that joke that Zizek likes to tell all the time, when they asked Stalin if there will still be money after society reaches true communism. Some party members claimed there will be money, some claimed there won't be money. Then Stalin said: you're both correct, there will be money for some, and there won't be money for others.

So there might be a period where there will be a very large underclass, you can see the new class stratification happening in all our countries since the war.

The ideal is of course that only the upper class with no economic survival on their minds and the rest is solved through automation etc.

But why wouldn't it be solved exactly as it is now, by outsourcing the underclass to another country, or just wherever you can't see them.

The problem is that due to globalization and widespread technology the usual dichotomy (more money and less freedom like in Switzerland, or less money and more freedom like in Serbia), doesn't exist, and everyone will have the exact same lack of freedom regardless of the money.

>>137003808
That's by far my favorite ex-Yu movie, the juxtaposition of the whale being cut up and the corrupt officials "cutting up" whatever resources is brilliant. And it's applicable to today's events too, you could show it to someone and tell him it represents criminal privatization and it still works.
>>

it was utopia, a pyramid scheme created by commie baby-boomers, looked nice but was fake and we paid dearly for it in 90s.

however, one who never lived in communist autocracy can't understand appreciation ex-commies have for order and safety it brought - ex. major lack of crime, salary ranks (guarantied salary based on education and years of experience) or free apartments you get when you get a job.

in it's prime, compared to capitalism, it felt like you were living in futuristic society or at least some advanced benevolent military order which exactly knows what it's doing and uses the latest science to guide it. slogans were great, equality, justice, work work. not a very good system for actual real people who like to steal, cheat and fuck up others.

3. Elektronika, Elektronika everywhere

"Elektronika" is the embodiment of soviet product diversity (lack thereof). It was pretty much the only company, a state company, that produced everything needed for home electronics - TVs, radios, tape recorders, etc., so all these goods had a model name "Elektronika-XXXX".

My first computer was an Elektronika MK-61. It was a programmable calculator with RPN, 15 memory registers and 105 bytes of program memory. It calculated a sinus in like 3-4 seconds and ate through 3 AA batteries within 3 hours of operation, so you had to use it primarily with a power supply.

Doesn't seem like much power, yet there existed a sizable collection of games written for it. There were games and other useful programs regularly posted in tech/sci magazines. I remember there was a really cool series of articles in the magazine "Tekhnika Molodezhi" ("Youth's Technology") in the 80s running for a year. Each article started with a chapter of a light sci-fi novel set in the near future, about two guys who made a bet to prove that it would be technically possible to fly from the Moon to Earth in a tiny spaceship that is normally only used for local travel on the Moon. After the story chapter there was a game for the pr. calculators covering this exact section. So it was basically like "Lunar lander" type of game where you entered the amount of fuel, burn rate and angle, the calculator churned that for a minute and spat out your position and speed. The goal was to land safely or accomplish some other objective. And as the story progressed: this game was extended and extended - crazy what can fit into 105 bytes of code.

These magazines were amazing by the way - probably the best single thing in my memory about USSR. My dad had subscription for several and amassed a huge collection going back to 60's. One cool thing was that they never changed their format this whole time.

Multiculturalism isn't equality, it's each culture separately run by own people. One culture doesn't cares what other culture does. Government only cares they don't go into each other hair, while democracy is different, they want equality all over the country, same language. You love your American-English films and American-English music, don't you? Have you heard any music from any other language from EU? They want you to hear American-English only. That's melting pot, not multiculturalism. Politicians try very hard to speak English like their masters demand, companies try very hard to name everything in English, i mean American. Every game show, every talent show you see on television is a licensed show from American origin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_China
>China has 297 living languages

Why do you use YouTube, China doesn't. Why don't you have your own Ebay, China does. Why don't you promote your own films and music? China does. First you need to get a grab over 1 culture, because you can talk about multiculturalism or equality. Equality is one global economy aka same laws everywhere, same music everywhere, equality isn't multiple. But interestingly they fail to create equality of salaries and trade, which is why we joined EU to begin with, they forgot about this.

The Bunkers are nuts. Over 500,000. Maybe more.

In Durress on the beach poor kids use them as shitters.

In my grandpa's village near the Greek border, they have a massive one with tunnels running through the mountains that my father told me used to hold an Artillery battery.

Also even I was blown away on the Top Gear episode where they find the old abandoned Mig Airfield and Sub base.

I remember reading some analysis about the region some years back and it basically talked about Hoxha's paranoia making Albania a far more formidable threat to it's neighbors at the time (60's early 80's) than anyone actually though.
Subs, cannons, chemical weapons, bunkers out the ass, etc. etc.

I'm glad nothing happened.

Well, Kojeve thought it would be the end of history and there would be that "idyllic" existence I already described above forever, but then even he realized that this is unrealistic, and humans would revert to an animal state, so... he added this:

>Hence it would have to be admitted that after the end of history men would construct their edifices and works of art as birds build their nests and spiders spin their webs, would perform their musical concerts after the fashion of frogs and cicadas, would play like young animals and would indulge in love like adult beasts. [25]

>But, most importantly the human animal would lose language which is the only medium of Wisdom: discourse, Logos will disappear:

>Animals of the species Homo sapiens will react by conditioned reflexes to vocal signals… What would disappear is not only Philosophy or the search for the discursive wisdom, but also the Wisdom itself. For in these post-historical animals, there would no longer be any understanding of the World and of self.

If that's not the most dystopian thing you can think of, I don't know what is.

>>137006342
You fail to understand that Socialism is a different set of laws compare to Democracy which has different laws. Other important thing is also that your politicians can't change EU laws or international laws. They just join organizations and after that they have to take refugees, since they joined organization, they don't have any powers to change the laws of that organization. Refugee law is international law, not your country's jurisdiction. When you agreed to Geneva, IMF, UN, NATO, that's when you sealed your faith. These new politicians are just clowns, they are riding on will of rich people who decide when to invoke those organizations your idiot politicians joined 50 years ago. You think it's current government and previous government fault, they are just clowns playing the game to get re-elected. Those clowns can maybe only join additional free trade organizations to screw you even further, but that's almost impossible.

The eastern bloc wasn't really that bad. I mean, it was nothing compared to the west and it was quite poor, but not really unbearable. Poland, Czechia, and Hungary were alright, Yugoslavia was barely even socialist, not too sure about Bulgaria but i imagine very poor. Romania and Albania were awful however because their dictators were megalomaniacs and i'd also figure the Soviet Union in its later years was probably pretty terrible.

I don't completely understand what you mean, but even though being communists most EE countries were still quite "nationalistic" and did fear or didn't want total domination from Soviet Union. They are still in control.

Just under a different name and a different political tone. Sure, sometimes a opposition party won but as a rule they'd were infected before. Unsympathetic parties do not win. Thus a almost constant holding pattern as the governments try their best to destroy whatever the previous one made barring something that they consider political suicide and won't ever touch.

Thus a endless chess game of back and forth where inch by inch the dominant side wins slowly.

So pretty depressing, and making you fantasise about killing all politicians since they have been at it for so long that you do not have the energy to bother and differentiate.

Mor than that in my country for example, the military is barred not only from having any connection to a party or speak anything against any policy, but they are not allowed to even organize in a way to be able to negotiate salaries when everyone else can, or issue any statements of general concern.
For example, the basis soldier pay is about 250/300$ that is supposed to grow with age, experience and hazard pay, but that is only applied when convenient or can't r ally talk about how only a minuscule parts of the budged is allocated for investments and the rest for pay, that the lower ranks never see pretty much.

This in the conditions that the minimum salary in the country is around 400$.

So with lower pay, little investments, and domestic weapons projects developed and hoped for once in a blue moon that get canceled due to fluctuation in budget and then forgotten.

And any such thing are only mentioned in passing and then also forgotten, while the specialty media is also beholden to military law and can only speak on certain subjects.

It is funny to watch the cycle of hopeful stories and news one year and then back to very bland stories and news two or three years, interlaced with the odd lamentation of missed opportunities.

But not to worry, you are exporting your political system very well. We starts implementing gender qoutas, censorship was already implemented on radio and TV a longtime ago and we are working on the internet too.
