Regardless of your views on the NSDAP, what were the ethics behind this and truly how affective was this?
Please educate me more on this subject, maybe I'm just being a good goy

Hugely effective. You guys remember Lance Armstrong? Imagine every Wehrmacht soldier able to behave like that. The drug allowed them to be active for 50 hours straight, lessened their resistance to committing violence and increased their reaction times. They were like the supermen the Nazis dreamed of on that drug, it's no surprise therefore that the Allies had such a hard time in the early years of the war.
It wasn't effective because after a few days of running high soldiers just collapse and no amount of drugs will help.
Allies used drugs too for that matter.
