Superiority complex. Some men think or need to feel they are smarter than the women they are pursuing. They fetishize their STEM degree or their academic accomplishments. They may even seek out a woman they are sure is 'dumber' than they are, like a waitress or barista or a retail manager. They think they do a good job of hiding their condescension or eye-rolling or superiority complex but it shines right through. This also extends to their hobbies. Your scifi/fantasy escapism or video game collection or obscure music library does not make you interesting or superior.

Let go of middle school and high school. Seriously. You were bullied? You were an outcast? No friends? High GPA? You were a late bloomer? Parents divorced? Stacey was mean to you?
