I lived in NY. I was commuting to work and didn't notice the first tower going down because I was driving. However I saw the smoke, and like quite a few others on the road, I pulled over and got out of the car to experience this once in a lifetime occurrence. I saw the 2nd plane hit the towers with my own eyes from about 10-15 miles away.
