There are custom game modes for people to fuck around in. Namely the Arcade, Practice Range and Custom Games.

If you play Quick Play or Competitive you play to win. In Quick Play you are forgiven for playing off meta heroes, but you're not excuse from trying to win and playing the objective.

Nah WoW was great for people looking for something new in that genre. As someone who played Everquest from 99-04 it was a great refreshing game. The end of Cata was pretty meh. I personally loved Pandaria outside of the playable Pandas, WoD was the frist expac that I didnt bother playing. Took months off from Legion but recently jumped back into for some holy pally pvping.

The d3 engine is why it's shit. It's the worst video game engine ever created. Mods cannot be made for it. Future d3 developers have remarked on how difficulty it is to even make tiny changes or additions to the game.
