When one organism out-competes another in the same environment, there's no moral or ethical judgement there, there's simply one organism that managed to survive by luck or by virtue of having an advantage that the other lacked. The native cultures European settlers encountered took their territories from other cultures, who in turn probably took theirs from even older ones. Our ancestors simply did the same thing, on a larger scale.

As for not being able to eat fry-bread anymore if ours dies, how does that even work? You'd still know how to extract oil from seeds, render fat from animals, and you can still grow grain and make flour and meal. I'd think that you could still go on enjoying fry-bread with your meals if you wanted, because the ideas are still there. If anything, that would be something worth keeping, because in the event of a complete industrial collapse, the survivors would need to work their butts off to stay alive, and fried food keeps relatively well, tastes good and is rich in calories, which are all good things if you're performing manual labor.
