Has there ever been a reasonable argument against cultural appropriation? Has anyone ever answered the points of, "Caucasian cultures, throughout time, have had dreads" or "If we're gonna buy into the argument, than blacks shouldn't straighten their hair" (or use just about any modern invention...)?
I understand the basic argument to stem from the oppressor/oppressed dynamic, that because blacks have recently (in the scope of history) been targeted and subjugated, their present culture deserves to be preserved in some way, and at a respectful difference? also, whyte ppl just dont know the hair and its rich history.....
where does /pol/ side on this?
I could see some of you fuckers agreeing, but in your nazi way where you say 'no whites should have nigger hair, nor should they want anything from black culture'
