If a state goes blue for a presidential election it doesn't mean the average IQ of the state and therefore democrat voter is higher. You could essentially say the same thing about Alabama or Mississippi (pick any of the black belt states). They have huge black enclaves since they're former slave states. This would assume blacks have a higher than average IQ or they at least retard the average in those states at that time. IQ is also a good measure for how successful you are in life. A better look at how the chips fall would be pic related. Lower income generally means lower IQ and lower skill level.

In all honesty, looking at IQ as a valid determination of intellect can be iffy at best - I prefer to look at how someone argues, how proficient they are at defending their points, do they make emotional points or logical ones; what are their political views?

Paying close attention to that and particularly how coherent they are all around should show you how smart someone is. If IQ really meant something, a dummy like me with not even high school formal education and only a 105 IQ should've easily been beaten in all arguments I've had.
