hey guise,
I want an academic discussion of shills here! Last time I posted this, I was banned. WEEIIRRD, MODS AREN'T GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE??I
I wrote this, and I need more stuff like it:
1. Shills often use ‘inverted’ memes that do not feel authentic to the group they target to influence. An example would be pro 'Hillary Clinton’ or 'HILDAWG’ memes in far-right forums such as /pol/.
They have no reason to occur. Be wary of any meme use that seems completely ineffectual.
2. Shills often resemble ‘edgelords’ or ‘trolls’. They will try to dwell in rigid ideology and appeal to emotion and established authority.
3.Some shills just want to derail discussion. Using rigidity (even with rigidity in anti-semitism) to shame participants for not being more extreme in their convictions can result in neutralizing and alienating some participants. Some shill operations are aiming to make users mentally unstable or individually troubled.
4. Shills will not be able to respond properly to real and honest questions. They work from a script and, until AI is used, they will be revealed to be inarticulate and unprepared nearly every time.
5. Shills appeal to violence easily: LETS X THE PRESIDENT. LETS Y THIS GROUP.
They also advocate illegal acts across the board.
6. Shills will be obvious, but some are more subtle. You will see patterns of posts and replies that have no real organic reason to occur. Use your intellect to investigate causality
7. Shills often pretend to be curious adversaries inquiring as to ‘why do you think x’, or ‘how can you support y in the face of z?’
