Friendly reminder that if you're a person who respects their individual privacy and freedom, there is no reason to be using the products created by the botnet that is the Google company.

There is a plethora of options available for you to replace your Google apps that are lighter, faster and better in general, including respect for freedom and privacy.

bought a new android phone a week ago, because my last phone was ancient
wants me to make a gmail account with my phone number, do it reluctantly
disabled a lot of permissions on all the google bloatware that came with the phone, account synch and all that shit

think i'm ok

today download some normie app that was popular at my uni to check out what the fuss was about
it wants to know my localization, uninstall it after seeing it's hot garbage

google maps updated it's permissions and now a notification pops up that wants me to confirm if some store in my local area has opened yet

google play store updates 20+ apps and automatically installs new bloatware

manually go through individual apps and uncheck permissions again for shit i can't uninstall

WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?

the political stuff aside, this is hell. how do people put up with this shit? this is clearly anti-consumer garbage.

do i have to root my phone and delete all this shit and have to download 3rd party stuff to escape from this?

add yacy to the search engines pls.
You cannot go less cucked than with a P2P search engine where you control everything.

Also pls mention Zeronet and Retroshare, both are software for distributed web and web related stuff like emails, message boards and twitter clones.

Everything I mentioned is open source and has been in development for a decade (except Zeronet but it looks polished as hell already)

ZeroNet is a no no.
You can easily be tracked down with it. Is so easy that the Admin of the page you visit has basic information about you enough to make a profile of you.

Also, for being P2P, you upload and download from every page you visit. And if said page has something ilegal, you will download it without knowing and CAN be prosecuted for ilegal possessial of sensitive material i.e. CP, governamental papers and such...

I've been using SRWare's Iron browser, with good results, but this looks interesting too. SRWare is also from Goymany. Really makes you think.

>Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. But it also gets critic from data protection specialists , for reasons such as creating a unique user ID or the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome - but without the critical points that the privacy concern.

Im not trying to be contrarian or to shill, I just genuinely don't understand why I should go through all this effort.

I'm a teacher and I use Google for everything. Google Search, Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sites. Everything. It's highly integrated into our school and into our entire district as a powerful educational tool. In the last 8 years that I've been teaching I have never had a problem with google and I don't have a problem with them now. While the idea behind that memo was sound it's presentation and voice was not appropriate. He deserved to be reprimanded for the negative publicity and should have been more careful with his word choice given his audience.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a liberal snowflake Jew Google cuck lizard person. In biology every year I slip in evolutionary and physiological bases for gender and race. I instill in my students a respect for evidence over feelings and basically preach that psychology is an invalid basis for any conclusion because the entire field is so biased to the left.

But this? Come on. This is just you guys rushing to defend someone you feel an imaginary sense of solidarity with. I'm not going to go running to some shitty backwater search engine like DuckDuckGo just because Google fired a guy that caused them a publicity nightmare.

If you don't care about that then that's down to you.

>it's presentation and voice was not appropriate. He deserved to be reprimanded for the negative publicity and should have been more careful with his word choice given his audience.
Proof that you did not read the memo. Its written in a super-sjw-hope-i-dont-offend-anyone way.
And it was never meant for the public. you cannot blame the guy that others leaked it.

Not to mention that he quotes tons of up to date scientific evidence for his ideas and gives tons of ideas how to make google more welcome for women. He was basically that one injured Piranha in the swarm that got eaten by everyone else.

To answer your original qeustion: To see if we can and to hurt google. It does not even have to be significant damage, just enough to make the shareholder nervous. And with a stagnating ad market and google depending to 95% on it, it rather easy.

Linux is nothing more than a Kernel. You could run Windows on Linux.

The actual POSIX *NIX OS is called GNU. It's the thing with the terminals and cool commands. Linux is just a kernel.

I dont think so tim.
Linux is the Kernel, GNU is the surrounding stuff that makes it do more than flicker LEDS adn post status messages in black and white on the screen.
ed, vi, emacs, tails, awk... thats GNU.
You could NOT run Windows on Linux because both the win and Linux kernel would try to do the same thing at the same time using completely different ways. They would both try to handle system calls, incoming network traffic...
You can however port one type of application (if FOSS) to another OS. So Linux apps could run with a windows kernel and Windows apps on a Linux kernel (after some rewriting)

1. I can create a website to tell you your IP without storing it or logging it, you can do it via JavaScript in your console.

2. I can also tell you your geolocation based on that IP doing no server-side logic all in pure client-side Javascript.

3. I can get your user agent, because it is sent on every request, as are the request headers that your browser sends.

This is how HTTP works you stupid fuck.

Don't believe me? Read the fucking RFC.

https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2616

Now onto the second part, the NGINX proxy.

Proxies are very. fucking. common. It's not solely for "SSL Termination Proxying" it has a VERY WIDE RANGE OF USES.

Yet, you're a fucking technologically incapable human so let me tell you some of the uses:

1. Reverse Proxy
2. Forwarding
3. Caching
4. CDN
5. and much... much... more.

On the topic of "insertion of affiliate codes" that one you can disable or enable and is disingenuous to really talk about. Since if you enable it, that's your own fucking fault.

That said there are a million other things you should worry about, I can track you using a cookie. I can get your entire search history, and actual traversed pages using a css visited hack, and I can view your local storage and cached history if you give me permission, usually enabled by default in every browser.

You think you're safe? You're a fucking normie who doesn't even know what they are talking about in the first place thinking that some other fucking browser like Opera, Firefox, Brave, or Search Engine like DDG, Jeeves, etc aren't a part of a global network that talk to each other and store your information.

Amazon already has a profile on you, so does facebook, so does Google....

No it's a fucking pile of shit and anyone who likes it is a fucking retard. Its rendering engine is a pile of shit, it's concept is retarded. Giving news organizations some fucking volatile currency or money for fucking existing?

Fuck that.

It's a long con, kiddo. It damages the integrity of AdSense. Google is already down more than 10% since Monday.
>>
>>136899297
go to hell faggot.
If you emulate it you are not running both together. (duh!)
If its a Linux->Win emulator then the physical Linux system does all the actual work and the emulated Windows just gets to see whatever Linux sends it. Like a human in the matrix.

Now go pick up a book, though I doubt this will help.

>>136899528
I think not. Its an interesting software but any firefox fork is more advanced and has more features (thanks to addons mostly).
Despite having gone to shit with FF I can always be sure that there is at least one addon somehwere that does what I want

http://dailymotion.com is headquartered in France. Is France foul of postmodernist's?
>>
>>136900574
True, but Google is worse than France.

France wishes it were Google.
>>
>>136900073
By "emulator", you mean virtual machine?
>>
my problem with all these alternate search engines, is they all return the exact same skewed results as google, leading me to understand that they all use Google's search algorithms anyway, which defeats my point in not wanting to use them
>>
>>136901038
whatever emulates is an emulator. there are several different techniques to do that
>>
>>136901183
well their algorithms are based on hidden markov chains which is pretty good. I remember the time before google and all engines were garbage.

If you want full control over what get indexed and how: Install Yacy, a distributed open source search engine.
>>
>>136901245
Virtual machines use hardware virtualization. It's not the same thing.

Trying out brave and qwant. So far both are pretty good. Just got so tired of the pc propaganda machine.

Firefox seems to get progressively slower the more you use it in a day.
I'm going to try Brave. I switched to Microsoft for now for other things.
Using Bing for search. Might migrate my email to Outlook too.
>>
>>136901589
you can have software vms or kvm, or even non-emulating emulators like wine

everything is a botnet
>>
>>136901801

Try Palemoon.org. It is an updated fork of Firefox before FF went to crap.
>>
>>136902021
Yeah.. you can.
But the I asked, are you talking about using virtual machines or emulation? They are not the same thing. Emulating Windows would be a lot of work. Wine isn't an emulator, it basically installed part of Windows on your system.
