So when the Bible taxonomically divides the different animal kinds in Genesis, that doesn't count? Stop being silly. Noah could easily fit those animals on the ark. Obviously he used baby animals, and obviously every breed today wasn't present then, but came about as animals spread around the earth and slightly developed because of changes in the climate. The Bible tells us how large the ark was and it fits with modern calculations of the animals needed on the ark.

The people who live in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the rest of the lower Midwest are mostly descended from German settlers, Puritans, & Irish laborers. They don't even look the same.

My core issue with the South is that, whereas most White Northerners are fine with leaving other nations alone, White Southerners tend to lean more towards the 'Murica booyah, blow them Commie bastards to bits' side of things. I still remember protests in Chicago against Clinton bombing Serbia but Southerners were all for it.

Yeah, we've definitely got a lot of whiny pussies up here. But at least they were like 'wait a minute, is Milosevic actually a threat to us?'

Part of the issue, imo, is that many Whites in the North are Europhiles whereas Southerners often view America as superior to Europe. It's just a very different mentality.

I'm a White Nationalist and this sort of difference exists on both the far right and the far left. Those of us in the North who are WNs often want to emigrate to Europe or build a separate ethno-state that sheds most of America's culture. Southerners want to take back America. We've just got completely different mindsets.

I think it's all the Scotch-Irish blood down there. The only part of the North with a lot of that heritage is the far West, and the locals out there act a bit like Southerners. Very feisty and tough.

Any way to break the cycle of exploiting the South's martial talents? Maybe set up a Southern political party to break the Republican's hold on that part of the country.

How do you people not understand tax incentives?

The money doesn't exist. Tax incentives are a way to bring a project or industry to an area. If the tax incentive isn't offered and they don't build it there, then exactly zero dollars are generated for the state, including zero jobs, and zero tax on the purchases made there.

"All the useful things" are exactly nothing, because like I said, the money does not exist if the business does not go to that state.

Actually abiogenesis has been researched heavily. Turns out if you put "primordial soup" in a bag and shock it, you get a huge amount of proto-RNA and proteins, along with lipid bilayer chunks and other cellular structures. It's only a matter of time and energy to actually create all the interworking of a cell by random chance, and the only difference between a living and dead cell is an imbalance of energy.

How many generations did it take for single celled organisms to evolve into elephants? That's impossible to say, considering we can't possibly have a detailed fossil record of cellular life. We can guess based on the amount of time, but it would be foolish to try to determine the exact year life started on Earth.

You say that the step into a new species by another has never been observed. First, I should mention that it is estimated that only 20% of the Earth's species have actually been observed and documented, with the vast majority of the remainder being oceanic animals and insects. So it's very possible that we haven't observed it because we haven't even seen everything that exists yet. Second, how do you define a species? Classically, they are animals that can't interbreed successfully with other species, and happen to have similar features. So alternatively, we might not be able to observe speciation because we can't see a large enough picture of breeding patterns. Beyond that, we have only lived through a small piece of the Earth's history, and as much as you probably hate this argument, we haven't given it enough time.

When you look at ancient civilizations, there were many things they did or believed that we would laugh at nowadays. Their lack of perspective was what sets them apart, not their lack of intelligence. When the OT was written, people didn't know that the Sun was a star, and that there were hundreds of thousands of planets just in our galaxy alone. They didn't even understand the concept of a galaxy. It's not that they were too stupid, but it's also not because they didn't have the observational equipment (in fact, we modern civilizations weren't the first to think that our Sun was a star, a few Greeks did too). It was because even if we told them, it not only wouldn't fit into their worldview, they just simply wouldn't understand as a society.

And in these same situations, the OT was written, which is the basis for the Genesis story. For the sake of actual argument, I will only reference the OT here, not the NT, Book of Mormon, etc. The Old Testament creation story is actually two different and slightly conflicting stories, one in which God creates the world in seven days and the other where God creates man in a garden. In the first, God separates lights and makes them guard over the night and the day. This is of course how ancient civs would have interpreted the sun and the moon (they are obviously both lights, right?).

But more on the Flood story. If there was a worldwide flood, how would the writers of the OT know? Besides their god telling them it was so, they couldn't possibly have interacted with cultures around the world, as they didn't have the technology to travel there. If we assume cultures were non-communicative, how would the OT writers know it wasn't just a large, regional flood? They couldn't possibly know differently without divine intervention, and to them, any flood large enough could be seen as worldwide. (cont)

They actually found the ark

>>
>>136858479
I actually don't doubt that there was a flood in Noah's vicinity, and that he built a big boat for his family and probably his own livestock. However, it would have been physically impossible to keep every animal in the world on a single boat (especially not two to seven of each of them) and keep them all fed and disease free while preventing their consumption of each other. Even if god somehow coaxed all these animals together, they literally, volumetrically couldn't fit on the ark described in the book. It's far more likely that Noah had livestock which he saved by keeping them on a large boat. Think about it. Everyone else has their futures destroyed while this guy Noah literally saves his family and animals. He comes out of this flood on top of society, being one of the only people with food and commodities to sell. Of course someone is going to tell stories about him.

But lets talk about another claim believers make about the flood, which is that disconnected societies all around the world have flood stories. To this I only make a simple argument. Is it more likely that many cultures have flood stories because floods happen commonly and most cultures live near rivers, or is it more likely that a global flood descended on the Earth by the power of god? This is where your belief system takes over. You are more willing to believe the second reason because it fits with your worldview. Your worldview is based off a book that can at best be interpreted as the musings of a society that tried to explain things they didn't understand through stories and metaphor.

What if there was no flood, no garden of Eden, no seven day creation? Even if these things never happened, it would have no impact on the Christian religion. Christians could simply concede that these stories were created to provide examples and allegories about real life situations. The Flood describes god's wrath agains the unfaithful, but also his protection of those who believe. (cont)

Hebrews often taught in hyperbole. The point of Noah's Ark was supposed to be more about the moral of trusting God even when he's commanding you to do something that sounds ridiculous. The bible was not specific of where it landed.
>the mountains of Ararat(Armenia/Urartu)

There is a mountain now called mount Ararat but it was not called that in biblical times. Ararat was the name of the entire region. The earliest latin bibles said "the mountains of Armenia" which is a more accurate translation and it refers to the entire country. It could be any mountain and they don't even know which mountain range it was part of.

Calling one particular volcano "Mount Ararat" is historically a fairly new thing (12th century or so, possibly a bit earlier).

I wonder how they mean by pseudoscientific. I could see the educational value if one is researching the history of construction of these kinds of vessels. It'd be fascinating to know that at the time the Bible was written, they had this much knowledge of how to construct such a ship.

Ignore me, I'm stoned right now. But that's just my two cents on the potential value of visiting such a place.

The flood was real and there was probably some survivors from semi-developed ancient civilizations that survived by riding it out on existing naval ships. Everything else is fable and folklore.

Is this what low-IQ brits actually believe? That anything not paying taxes to the government is equivalent to the government PAYING for the endeavor? No wonder you guys need a fucking TV permit. You're the state's bitch and always will be.

This is just some asshole capitalizing on the retardation of the south.

>>136846350
if the ark story was true, then they most likely stored the DNA of the animals in tubes which wouldnt take up more than 1 room
but that would suggest technological superiority to us, thus proving the existence of a technologically superior ancient civilization

>a tax break costs the government money

No you fucking lefty, spending costs the government money. Spending is what creates deficits. If spending was tied to revenue, as it should be, the amount of tax revenue wouldn't matter.

And this project brings tourism, so it's a good investment.

>I wonder how they mean by pseudoscientific

They mean the park picks and chooses which parts of accepted science it acknowledges as fact and which it doesn't as it suits the narrative that a 350 year old man almost singlehandedly built a giant ship with bronze age technology and filled it with pairs of every currently existing animal on Earth. It ignores things like food storage, waste management, how/why the animals didn't eat or fight with each other, basic maintenance, how a species genetic diversity was maintained from just two parents, etc.

>The flood was real and there was probably some survivors from semi-developed ancient civilizations that survived by riding it out on existing naval ships
The flood happened when Noah was around 600 years old according to Genesis, which would place it around 2400BC (well into the early bronze age) and many ancient civilizations existed at this time.

Both Stonehenge and the great pyramids are older than the biblical timeline for the great flood and their cultures continued on uninterrupted before, during, and after the flood years.

Noah's flood would have had to be contained to a very small region if even Egypt wasn't affected. Egypt had floods, of course, but at no point did any flood get bad enough to actually submerge the entire kingdom and halt all progress for 100 years while they repopulated. The biblical flood happened during their recorded history and it was probably just a bad year for them on their floodplain.

>define "kind" and while you're at it explain how these "kinds" could re-distribute themselves globally and form ecosystems within the very very short 3000 years or so

I'm not a young earth person, but assuming a much older time span, perhaps during pangea the earth (a single continent) was flooded. People and animals would have been concentrated so this makes more sense. Then after flood they spread over the continents as they moved apart, which I believe is how animals spread across the earth according to current scientific thought.

Or maybe the word "world" isn't referring to the entire planet. Could just be known world at that time. We're dealing with hebrew translations here.

The age of Aquarius is coming. It will bring a great flood. It happens to earth every 1000 years or so.
>>
>>136868905
The flood occured about 12,000 years ago at the end of the Younger Dryas period. The bible is not an accurate source for dates.
>>
>>136870709
That is twice as old as the age of the earth according to young earth creationists. The major glacial flooding 12,000 years ago is generally something they do not believe in unless they can rework the geological timeline to match their biblical timeline.
