In context of them being codified into a single book, yes they are myths. The Bible isn't a "living volume" anymore. We don't add to it or subtract from it anymore, it has been solidified. I worry about Peterson, I think the attention gets to him, in the bible lectures they treat him like a messiah in the Q&As at the end. It results in him not really making totally robust arguments, since the majority of people around him simply lap up everything he says and when he does get to actually argue with people he just kinda blindsides them with barely explained leaps in logic which does one of two things, has people think "this guy is so much smarter than me I can't keep up" or "this guy is a fucking idiot", which I don't think is really useful.

Basically I think it's more of a disclaimer, like 'don't use these techniques to substitute serious and professional treatment", where you can still improve by taking into account what he has to say.

It's like being 300lbs overweight and going online for nutritional advice. You still need to know most of what you learn through there, but at that weight you also need more urgent and serious treatment by going to a doctor, and maybe a nutritionist.
