I think some people were threatening violence if the memo author wasn't fired.

It's been talked about widely on the Internet and the Web, where Google does business. Sundar even referenced the report after returning from holiday early due to the report.

Also, the report is the reason for his firing. Was HR not involved in the firing? HR *must* have known about the report.
