I and machine learning algorithms are marketed as unbiased, objective tools. They are not. They are opaque mechanisms of bureaucracy and decisionmaking in which old-fashioned racist, sexist, and classist biases are hidden behind sophisticated technology, usually without a system of appeal. As their influence increases in society, we face a choice. Do we ignore their pernicious effects, or do we understand, regulate, and control the biases they exert? If we want them to represent transparent fairness, freedom, and consistency in an efficient, cost-saving manner, we must hold them accountable somehow.

The only way we're gonna fix this world is by blacking our search engines like we black our wives.

It's kind of silly for anyone to think an algorithm that must prioritize search results could possibly be "objective." The only way to prioritize things is to establish a system of values! I cannot believe people take google's arguments seriously..,

AI and ML algoritms are unbiased and objectives, but data set and training could be bias.

Like say knife and guns are bias agains blacks, because black people kills each other with it.

we put women out of the workforce or they ruin AI's salvation of society there is no nice way to say it. all of history has been leading up to this next phase of society and women may ruin it, literally go back to the home and look after children instead you do not understand AI or society
