>There was no hack of the Democratic National Committee’s system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else. Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system. This casts serious doubt on the initial “hack,” as alleged, that led to the very consequential publication of a large store of documents on WikiLeaks last summer.

>Forensic investigations of documents made public two weeks prior to the July 5 leak by the person or entity known as Guccifer 2.0 show that they were fraudulent: Before Guccifer posted them they were adulterated by cutting and pasting them into a blank template that had Russian as its default language. Guccifer took responsibility on June 15 for an intrusion the DNC reported on June 14 and professed to be a WikiLeaks source—claims essential to the official narrative implicating Russia in what was soon cast as an extensive hacking operation. To put the point simply, forensic science now devastates this narrative.

>Forensicator’s first decisive findings, made public in the paper dated July 9, concerned the volume of the supposedly hacked material and what is called the transfer rate—the time a remote hack would require. The metadata established several facts in this regard with granular precision: On the evening of July 5, 2016, 1,976 megabytes of data were downloaded from the DNC’s server. The operation took 87 seconds. This yields a transfer rate of 22.7 megabytes per second.

>“A speed of 22.7 megabytes is simply unobtainable, especially if we are talking about a transoceanic data transfer,” Folden said. “Based on the data we now have, what we’ve been calling a hack is impossible.”

From the Author in the comments:

>Hello.

>I will comment on only one question raised here. It has to do w/ anonymity, a matter I looked into carefully and repeatedly during the reporting. As noted in what I wrote, anonymity in this field is respected as common practice.

>Last night I had a note from Adam Carter in which he addressed this question of identity. (I didn't solicit his remarks on the topic.) He wrote in part:

>"Please know that both Forensicator and myself only choose to remain behind pseudonyms for security. (Understanding Guccifer 2.0's purpose makes it clear to us that whoever it is, they are connected to influential and wealthy politicians that are not likely to be happy about this being exposed and the prospect of it being who we think it is does not make us feel any safer.)"

>Adam Carter went on to note he and colleagues are aware of the inconvenience their decisions to remain anonymous imposes.

>I see nothing peculiar in this judgment. I ought to add that some of my intelligence sources warned me as we finished our work together to be careful driving, esp at night and esp on the country roads I traverse to get home. This is not funny business, I was firmly advised. I'm not in a position to judge these kinds of things directly, but they are, and so I take their word for it.

>That's that.

>As to all or most of the other remarks in this thread, nothing in any of them alters in the slightest detail anything readers will find in the piece. We're bolted to the floor on this one.

>Cheers to all.

>Patrick Lawrence.

In the last two weeks, that's WaPo, CNN, USA Today, and now The Nation, all running "Whoa, let's all back away from the Russia hacking thing" articles. They finally figured out how badly it's gonna blow up in their faces.

Very interesting. Most liberals, unless they are truly batshit crazy, will admit they don't believe the Russia hacks happened, but good luck getting them to report on it. Keep in mind that they'll concede that Russia did not hack the DNC, but they'll still blather on about how "Trump colluded with Russia to hack the election." Bump.

>>136829598
here's the full analysis:
https://theforensicator.wordpress.com/guccifer-2-ngp-van-metadata-analysis/

there are presumptions made here including:
>timezones on the computers involved were not manipulated
>timestamps were not manipulated
>the copying which generated the metadata was the copying from the servers (they account for some later movement of files incl rarr'ing) and not a post-hack prep process

it's interesting but flimsy. without access to the affected machines they're pretty worthless.
>>

Sure, but the files came from someone who was trying to prove that the server *was* hacked from overseas and the files copied remotely. They had no reason to alter timestamps or anything else to make that look impossible. Just the opposite. If they'd thought to alter the metadata, they would have added time, not subtracted it. They just missed it.

http://g-2.space/ the evidence presented that the files were faked to look "russian" is close to indisputable. the only possible alternative is that the russians faked the files to look like they were hacked by russians but purposefully did a bad job of faking it in order to try to show that it wasn't actually russians. those russians are some sneaky fuckers but that seems a little implausible.

Cedric Richmond, Committee on Homeland Security, ranking member on Terrorism and Cybersecurity subcommittee;
Andre Carson, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, ranking member on Emerging Threats Subcommittee which is responsible for counterterrorism oversight, member of the Department of Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture Subcommittee;
Ted Lieu subcommittee on National Security

>How is it going to blow up in the Dems face?

From Rosenstein's letter appointing Mueller:

>(i) any links an or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
>(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation

https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3726381/Robert-Mueller-Special-Counsel-Russia.pdf

Mueller isn't going after Trump. The Left and their Russian collusion hoax are fucked. Not to mention the fact we're sanctioning Russia for something that didn't happen. There will be consequences for this.
>>
>>136834949
They don't need the DNC hack for their narrative anymore. Don Jr met with a "Kremlin-connected lawyer". Manafort was raided by the FBI. "Collusion" is the word now, and it's treated as a settled fact. And Seth Rich is still a wacky conspiracy theory, possibly invented by Donald Trump himself, and planted in the Fake News media by the countless Russian agents and white supremacists that control the American media.

Actually, to add to it. There might be an alternative explanation. Yesterday or the day before MSNBC had a few segments about trust in the media, as done by some researcher, and MSNBC was shown to be one of the sources on the negative trust side. Ari Melber, one of the anchors for a show, even put up a graph showing it, which surprised me that they would do, but maybe it means they got spooked and realized they need to reign themselves in, as they were keeping company with places like breitbart, foxnews, and alex jones.

Right, and they aren't backing away because they're bored with it. They've invested months into pushing this story, almost to the exclusion of everything else they tried against Trump during the campaign: Trump University, crudeness toward women, etc. Russia is all they have left, through their own choosing. They don't give that up without a very good reason.

Also, we *know* from Podesta's email that the choice to push the Russia angle was a calculated risk. Hillary was vulnerable on the uranium deal, so they went with "Trump has Russian dirt on him too" to try to cancel that out. They *hoped* it would turn out to be true, but if it didn't, they would've dug themselves into a hole where Americans want to know about shady Russian ties and Hillary is the only one with any. And here we are.

Yeah, I don't understand how they 'know' the file write times were the ORIGINAL copy being made. They could have been transferred slowly via the internet, then transferred quickly on a local network or USB drive.

I agree that something is very fishy - and I defer to forensic experts on most of this stuff - but I'd like an explanation for how they established that these file times are from the hack itself, and not from handling that took place after the hack. I assume they have one, but they left out the technical details due to the fact they'd go over the heads of most readers.

But the fact that the DNC didn't let the FBI examine the servers is just too damning. All of this evidence pulled together says something's fishy. I just don't see a smoking gun just yet.

They're scared, and they're going to throw the DNC under the bus, like any shifty Jew would. Then the cycle continues, but maybe with the GOP this time. The solution is to just destroy (((media))) and rebuild, while mass firing and prosecuting of the (((problem))).

"How fast is 1Gbps fibre broadband?

Admin MyRepublic May 26, 2016 05:38
1Gbps is 1,000Mbps, or 1000 Megabits per second, which is really really fast.

Now to be clear, that's 1000 Megabits (Mb) not Megabytes (MB). We are usually more familiar with MB as that's commonly used to measure file sizes.

Whether something is in “MB” or “Mb” makes a lot of difference. In other words:

8Mb is approximately 1MB.
Or 8Mbps is about 1MB/s.
Or 1,000Mbps is about 125MB/s.
So when you sign up for a plan that is advertised as 1,000Mbps, you are essentially buying a line that can transfer data up to about 125MB/s or has 125MB/s bandwidth.

How fast is 1000Mbps or 125MB/s is in terms of usage? Below are examples of files with the average download duration:

MP3 file — 3MB, less than 1 second
TV episode — 350MB, 3 seconds
720p High Definition TV episode — 950MB, 8 seconds
Blu-Ray Movie — 15GB, 2 minutes
For the best download speed, connect your Gigabit ready PC directly to the Modem (Alcatel Lucent port 1) with a CAT6 cable!"

>Cites report at "Consortium News"

Consortium News was pushing the "DNC was an inside job" since before Trump was elected. And rather than providing any evidence that the entire U.S. intelligence community’s analysis that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election to help boost Trump over Hillary Clinton was wrong, it only questions those findings and spirals off talking about internet speeds.
>>
>>136840100
And Google Fiber with more than enough download speed was available on the "East Coast" when the hack occurred.

Why do the researchers deny the existence of lightening fast ISPs at the time of the crime? Why do they pretend the "hackers" relied on average residential ISPs?

For $100/month Google Fiber would have installed a Small Business ISP in several East Coast locations where it offered services at the time of the crime.

And this all assumes the hackers we're not working w high end intelligence ops at some clandestine level, with access to whatever was required to get the job done.

Obama’s hidden Iran deal giveaway. By dropping charges against major arms targets, the administration infuriated Justice Department officials — and undermined its own counterproliferation task forces.
These weapons smugglers had North Korean ties, of course: Amin Ravan, was charged with smuggling U.S. military antennas to Hong Kong and Singapore for use in Iran. U.S. authorities also believe he was part of a procurement network providing Iran with high-tech components for an especially deadly type of IED used by Shiite militias to kill hundreds of American troops in Iraq. The biggest fish, though, was Seyed Abolfazl Shahab Jamili, who had been charged with being part of a conspiracy that from 2005 to 2012 procured thousands of parts with nuclear applications for Iran via China. That included hundreds of U.S.-made sensors for the uranium enrichment centrifuges in Iran whose progress had prompted the nuclear deal talks in the first place. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/24/obama-iran-nuclear-deal-prisoner-release-236966

H.R. McMaster’s Firm Funded by Sharia-Ruled Bahrain — Up to 25% of Total Income. Mcmaster's firm took about $32.5 million in funding from Bahrain, a country whose constitution explicitly enshrines Sharia Islamic law as the governing doctrine. http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2017/08/09/mcmasters-former-group-quietly-took-massive-funding-from-sharia-ruled-bahrain/
Bahrain, you say? Hmm, now what have we heard about them recently? Oh yeah, I member! Newly released Department of State documents reveal that the Crown Prince of Bahrain was given an audience with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after he donated $32 million to her foundation. The documents, released Monday by Judicial Watch, included emails between Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band and former Clinton State Department aide Huma Abedin, which appear to show that Abedin acted as a middleman between Clinton and her foundation’s donors. Band and Abedin’s email exchanges show that Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman had to go through the Clinton Foundation in order to set up a meeting with Clinton after the former Secretary of State declined to meet after official requests were made. http://dailycaller.com/2016/08/22/bahrains-prince-got-audience-with-clinton-after-donating-32-million-to-her-foundation/

Susan Rice Urges Donald Trump to ‘Tolerate Nuclear Weapons in North Korea’ Former President Barack Obama’s National Security adviser, Susan Rice, wants President Donald Trump to accept North Korea as a nuclear power.
“History shows that we can, if we must, tolerate nuclear weapons in North Korea — the same way we tolerated the far greater threat of thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons during the Cold War,” she wrote in a New York Times op-ed, criticizing the president’s “fire and fury” rhetoric in response to the escalating tensions between the two countries. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/08/10/susan-rice-urges-trump-tolerate-nuclear-weapons-north-korea/

Also: Secret Pentagon Report Reveals US "Created" ISIS As A "Tool" To Overthrow Syria's President Assad. Annie Machon, a former MI5 intelligence officer who blew the whistle in the 1990s on MI6 funding of al-Qaeda to assassinate Libya’s former leader Colonel Gaddafi, similarly said of the revelations: “This is no surprise to me. Within individual countries there are always multiple intelligence agencies with competing agendas.” She explained that MI6’s Libya operation in 1996, which resulted in the deaths of innocent people, “happened at precisely the time when MI5 was setting up a new section to investigate al-Qaeda.”
This strategy was repeated on a grand scale in the 2011 NATO when CIA and MI6 were “… supporting the very same Libyan groups, resulting in a failed state, mass murder, displacement and anarchy. So the idea that elements of the American military-security complex have enabled the development of ISIS after their failed attempt to get NATO to once again ‘intervene’ is part of an established pattern. And they remain indifferent to the sheer scale of human suffering that is unleashed as a result of such game-playing.”
Divide and rule. Several US government officials have conceded that their closest allies in the anti-ISIS coalition were funding violent extremist Islamist groups that became integral to ISIS. US Vice President Joe Biden admitted CIA funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to Islamist rebels in Syria that metamorphosed into ISIS. The report called for the US “to capitalise on the Shia-Sunni conflict by taking the side of ISIS. The RAND report confirmed that the “divide and rule” strategy was already being deployed “to create divisions in the jihadist camp. Today in Iraq such a strategy is being used at the tactical level.” http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-23/secret-pentagon-report-reveals-us-created-isis-tool-overthrow-syrias-president-assad

Now I'm curious about this part:
>>Forensic investigations of documents made public two weeks prior to the July 5 leak by the person or entity known as Guccifer 2.0 show that they were fraudulent: Before Guccifer posted them they were adulterated by cutting and pasting them into a blank template that had Russian as its default language.

Because Guccifer 2.0 was two weeks before the event on July 5, I wonder if the leaker did it as a red herring, pointing to Russia, so that they wouldn't come after him.

Unfortunately until we find seths laptop or there is a real forensic examiniation of the DNC server (honestly it probably way too late by now, everything will have been wiped, like with a cloth by now) Its all just going to be speculation.
By not bringing seth rich into the discussion of it being a leak as opposed to a hack this info is a lot easier for normies and fence sitters to digest. The (((MSM))) has done a fantastic job of equating Seth Rich with a conspiracy theory.
